Some people seem to have a need to have ALL the answers NOW

that just isn't the case. we are still a long way from understanding our origins.

the evidence points to us being put here around 14,000 years ago. All the violent humans were put here at that time. We dont live as long here but being as there were creatures that were biologically similar they decided that as a prison planet, earth would work just fine. Its obvious.

No evolutionary biologist says that though. Just people who lack an education/understanding of the subject

It was a crude simplification, but it's basically what one poster linked on the page that attempts to debunk ask the creationist math. Their math is interesting, I wonder if based on scaling the volumes and concentrations they could do an experiment to generate life from none... If that was from 1999 and their calcs about needing only a year vs. a million are close, they should be at or on their way to some proof that it can happen.

Still wouldn't explain where the universe came from.

The Miller–Urey experiment[1] (or Miller experiment[2]) was an experiment in chemical synthesis carried out in 1952 that simulated the conditions thought at the time to be present in the atmosphere of the early, prebiotic Earth. It is seen as one of the first successful experiments demonstrating the synthesis of organic compounds from inorganic constituents in an origin of life scenario. The experiment used methane (CH4), ammonia (NH3), hydrogen (H2), in ratio 2:2:1, and water (H2O). Applying an electric arc (the latter simulating lightning) resulted in the production of amino acids.

Right. Someone who wants it to be right probably could have tried a bit more since then. I love experiments and data.

I’m not following. The experiment was a huge success

Yes it is complete common sense that:

An all knowing, all powerful infallible omnipotent sky god with a long white beard was bored so he decided to create Earth, but this omnipotent being needed 7 days to create the Earth and then he created a guy, but the guy was bored, so he ripped his ribs out and made a woman, but he says “don’t eat this apple” and then a talking snake who is a fallen angel that sky god also created but the snake rebelled against him, well the snake talks to the woman and is like “yo eat that apple” and she’s like “alright” and then humanity is doomed to original sin and can’t go to heaven and then god gets mad at humans for doing what he condemned them to so he floods the entire world, killing almost every living being, including thousands and thousands of innocent animals and babies, and then some time passes and he thinks, “alright there’s only one solution here: I’ll send my son, who is also me, and also a 3rd undefinable spirit, and then I’ll/he will get murdered in spectacular fashion and everyone will be saved from the original sin that I created”

It’s just logical.

Nice straw man. I suggest reading some William Lane Craig or Tim Keller if you actually want to understand what the studied folk say, as opposed to that drivel.

Lighten up. I am simply pointing out the ridiculousness of his claim.

All religions have absurdities, there is little common sense to them.

It’s why they take faith.

I don't think you understand atheism

Perhaps. Though, I have tried. I denied His existence for decades. Only to somewhat recently come to truly understand my motivations for doing so. I was selfish, prideful, arrogant. I thought I knew what was best and I didn’t need any help from sky daddy. I thought the Bible was full of contradictions that couldn’t possibly be reconciled. I thought that the God that the Bible describes was a moral monster, and I knew that I was better than that. I thought that there was no historical or archaeological evidence to support the biblical accounts. I thought that religion was a man made construct, put in place solely to control weak minded people.

But, I began to notice negative effects on my children’s development, and my relationships with others. I see how my abandonment of the faith was hurting everyone that I loved- especially my mother, who had followed my lead. She was truly miserable (after the loss of my father and younger brother). I would always tell her that she should go back to church- to which she would reply “I’ll go when you go.” I fought it for years. One day, I looked in the mirror, and didn’t recognize myself as the young man who gave his life to Christ at 12 years old. I realized that all of the benefits of my short lived relationship with Christ had faded, and I had become a loathsome and jaded human being. I recognized that this path was unsustainable, and certainly not what I wanted for my children.

I found answers to all of my questions and doubts. The only real barricade between Christ and me- was my own foolish pride and self imposed emotional baggage.

But yeah. I probably don’t understand your particular brand of atheism.

At proving life can come from a chemical mixture? Maybe I missed it, but I read it as the experiment showed they could end up with certain other chemicals. Isn't it still a far leap to a cell?

Surely you jest. The Miller -Urey experiment has been thoroughly debunked for decades.
Nope. Try again.
Most origin-of-life researchers now consider Miller’s experiments irrelevant because the consensus view of early Earth’s atmospheric constituents has changed since the 1950s. Scientists now believe the initial atmosphere was composed of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water. This gas mixture does not readily produce organic compounds in prebiotic simulation experiments (see “Biology Textbooks Get it Wrong on Life’s Origin”).

Crazy how the textbooks still propagate thoroughly debunked science, huh? Makes you wonder what else they’re lying about- and why.

you just linked a "reasons to believe" website.

if you are searching for reasons to believe in creationism there is no shortage of sites that will tell you what you want to believe.

yes. we have found fossils of early humans dating back to 300,000 years ago

Smartest thing you’ve said so far. Then why are schools teaching children and young adults the far from settled theory of human origins? What benefit is there? What has been the effect?
