What happened during UCONN IOWA?

I saw iowa was down big but went to bed (obviously).
Woke up and saw iowa won by 2. What happened? I’m assuming Caitlyn Clark hid a game winning 3 from half court or something with the way the MSB is exploding this morning.

You’re still sleeping. You’re having a dream within a dream.

Iowa ended up scoring more and won

UConn player committed an illegal screen on one of the last plays. ESPN only showed the angle that didn’t properly show it, and had 3 former Uconn players on their broadcast who freaked out.
It was the right call.
It was the right call.

Uconn did an exceptional job defending Clark all night holding her to about 20 points. But Iowa had several players step up and play huge.

Horrible call to allow Caitlin Clark to advance the Final

Iowa set the same exact screen 10 times during the game with no offensive foul called. Caitlyn Clark pushes off to get open and the broadcast can only say, “well Caitlyn found separation”, but no offensive foul call. Iowa girl drives to the goal and is so unathletic the refs assume someone fouled her so they call a foul giving UConn’s point guard four fouls. Replays show no one touched the Iowa girl.
Then in the final 4 seconds of a one point game with UConn trying to take the final shot, the female ref who hates men but does her very best to look like a man excitedly called an offensive foul on UConn so that she could let everyone know that she was a referee and was present at that game.

Neat
Was it a foul?

And what about Paige Bueckers? She pushes off all the time. I guess that doesn't fit your narrative.

Yeah, I don’t care about women’s college basketball because there are much more enertaining versions of the game; however, this was an obvious illegal screen.

People who bitched about the refs in the Championship game last year when Caitlin fouled out are now content with a call deciding a game because Caitlin won.

SC will do 10 times worse shite than that illegal screen and none of it will get called. Of course, it’s WBB so who really cares?!

How many did they call throughout the game? Why wait until 3.8 seconds left to make a call that could have been made all game long?

I saw the play live...when they showed the foul upclose
it was the right call
People want this "Let them play"...on a last possession to see if drama will unfold
but you can't move a screen with knee and elbow out...
I mean that's cheating to get let open if it's not called
so if UCONN makes a 3 in wins the game, you'd be okay with that illegal screen not called?
may I ask why you think that way?

Because literally no one would care if it wasn’t called because similar screens were probably set all game without a whistle

Because i was watching a game end between 2 teams and then a ref stepped in.

The correct answer is to call the other illegal screens as fouls.
Would people be ok with a game winning shot being completely facilitated by a player tackling the shooter’s defender? No. That is effectively what happened, but people are either just completely biased for wanting a specific team to win.
Also UCONN knows the play was illegal. So they took the chance the ref would choose not to call it and that was their choice. They can not be mad because the correct call was made. They could have either excited the play correctly or ran a different play to get the shot they wanted.
It is like when football offense run a run play and they get caught for an illegal pick play. The offense knows there is a risk they could screw it up, but they do it anyways.
