Mulkey Criticism

Don't you think it's time to put the knives away. Everyone and his brother has a reason why we lost the game. It's over and we had a great season. We are not going to win the championship 4-5 years in a row. Just give the ladies some credit for what they did this year.

I will never criticize Mulkey, especially after bringing this fine piece of wine to Baton Rouge:

I hope she stays her ENTIRE eligibility

Mulkey criticism is stupid. Nobody was going to be successfully guarding Clark. She was hot, we were going to lose after Reese rolled her ankle. Sorry but we just don't have an elite PG. National Anthem stuff is ridiculous, pretty sure we have never been on court or on field (football).

Jeez, man, coaching staffs are supposed to devise a game plan and then be willing to adjust, in-game, if it's not working.
It wasn't working, but they didn't adjust.
Now, you can love Mulkey (as I do) yet also acknowledge that her defensive scheme on Clark was a complete failure.

The media attacking Mulkey keeps fans minds off the fact that the tourney was designed in such a way as to have Iowa or LSU eliminated before the final game.
Woke Rules!

Even Saban didn't win a championship every year. The team made it to the elite 8 after winning a championship. Let's enjoy the success.

Yes sir that appears to be an areola

When your entire team goes stone cold from the field in the second half it tends to frick your game plan.

If LSU puts back the offensive rebounds they got it isn't even a game. And that's with Reece rolling her ankle again and Clark going for 41. The anthem mess is just more cancel culture attacks on Mulkey.

As stated in other thread:
Sometimes great players just get ridiculously hot. Go back and look at her 20 three point attempts. The D was good on most of her misses and arguably the defense was good on 6 of the makes.
Those are shots you have to live with as a coach because they’re supposed to be low %. “Make her shoot contested 25-footers” is probably the best percentage play.
The bigger issue was that no one—not HVL, Poa, or the few Flau’jae attempts—could keep Clark from driving and you can’t double Clark 25 feet from the hole or you’re just begging her to get unlimited assists to the open teammate.
Long story short, the best coach in women’s basketball realized she had to swallow the poison pill and choose the best of multiple bad options. We shouldn’t crush Mulkey for recognizing the best % play or HVL for drawing the short straw against a generational talent.

An astute observation, sir:

We missed too many shots anyways.

This was the real difference between last year and this year
Posted on 4/4/24 at 12:03 pm to BornAndRaised_LA
I was just thinking about last year’s
game and the first person I thought of was Jasmine Clark. How nice was that to have a shooter come out on fire? We have some great players, but nobody got hot. I hope we have more depth next season:
I know we scored down underneath the basket early on in the game, but that seemed to stop once Reese got hurt and really nobody got scorching hot .

I just looked it up. Jasmine a bench player was 7/8 with 22 points.
Our bench which was only 2 players this past game combined for 2 fgs. We had no depth at all.
Our starting 5 this year actually made more overall fgs than the previous Iowa game, but they were less efficient as a team. Our girls were often playing gassed and even on bad ankles.

I just hope she doesn't go the route of Saban and say frick it and retire.
She is, without a doubt, in the discussion for best women's bball coach ever. There is no debating that with her resume. We are incredibly lucky to have her at LSU.
She is having to deal with millionaire college basketball players. In the past two weeks alone she's been under attack by both Democrats, and now Republicans. And to make matters worse, one of the attackers is the damn governor of the state she's in. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.

She's the New York Yankees of women's college basketball!

Our family doesn't care what the liberal woke media and LSU haters say. Coach Kim is our coach and the best coach for LSU. We have met her several times, and she is nothing like the outsiders are portraying her. We are glad she is a strong, confident person and doesn't take any crap from anyone who attacks her, the team, and LSU. We will continue to support her and our WBB team, both financially and as fans. We bleed P&G forever. All the haters can stick it.
