The ONLY reason WBB lost was due to the horrid FG % in the second half - namely the third Q. All the shots they are used to making didn't drain at all.
It wasn't the effort. It wasn't the D.

I just love all the people who are stupefied that a women’s basketball team was throwing up bricks. It’s a part of the game.

FYI it doesn’t get better at the WNBA level.

Clark is a rare anomaly that actually can legit shoot and is thus the greatest female player ever.

No team was beating Caitlin Clark and Iowa last night. It was not HVL’s fault or the refs fault. Clark is a generational talent and had one of her better games. Nobody was stopping her last night.

This game has been called very well overall. This loss comes down to two things. Caitlin Clark just had a historic night shooting the ball couple with Reese (who had been dominating inside) getting hurt.

Kim should have slowed the game down. It was obvious Iowa was wanting to play fast break transition offense.

LSU took way way way too many outside jump shots and by doing so left our forwards without being in position for off rebounds.

We did not capitalize on our size advantage underneath or let Flaujae and Mikayla drive to the basket often enough.

Our strategy for handling the high pick and roll didn’t help.

Basic basketball, if the defender is going under the screen the other defender has to hedge.

Yep. We win if Angel doesn’t get hurt imo.

As good as CC is she isn’t shooting like that in 5 straight games. Just like Reese wouldn’t get hurt in 5 straight games.

They brought it up in iowa postgame presser. Clark had been down a bit shooting in the last 5 games prior to this one, she said so herself.
Then tonight happened!

That’s not it. They are flat out better and would probably beat us 4 out of 5 games.

Nah, it's close to a 50/50 matchup as reflected in the betting odds. Think LSU probably even has the better players overall... but Iowa does have the best player who shot lights out last night (and they still only won by 7).

LSU had more than enough chances to win this game even with Reece hurt. They dominated the boards but couldn't put the ball back in the net. Simple as that. Clark was going to get hers but the rest of her team stepped up and hit shots when she was double teamed. They lost to a better TEAM. Period. Coaching had nothing to do with it. Not to mention the turnovers.

This.
The other factors are there for sure, but we just had a deluge of missed shots, some open that didn’t even hit the rim.

The refs didn’t make us miss 14 out of 15 shots in the second half.

No they wouldn't because we wouldn't shoot 5/26 in the 3rd quarter 4 out of 5 games. THAT is why we lost. We go 9/26 and we win this game.

We lost mainly because we shot very poorly. Missed countless open shots

LSU rarely loses any game in any sport. It’s almost always the refs/umps fault

Two evenly matched teams. One played better on the night and won. If they played again in a week, the score could be reversed. As someone posted earlier, their star had a big night and ours didn't. Sorry to say, it happens all the time.

My nephew once described Larry Bird's shooting as shooting and then using a remote control to guide it into the basket. I kept looking for Clark's remote last night. She could flat out shoot.
