Yeah and it would be even funnier if this was posted on the movie board.

Depends on when you were born, I’ve got Naked Gun and Hot Shots series pretty high up there.

No… it was ok, but there are many that are more funny.

Nah. While the first half is funny, the second half is just pure arse.

It's sort of the comedy version of Full Metal Jacket.

I tried watching it and though I'd like it because of Bill M. but couldn't finish it. I think you have to of seen it as a teen or kid to have good memories of it.

It is up there.

Top 5 for sure

Blazing Saddles and Spies Like Us are my go to old school comedies.

Probably get downvoted but Tropic Thunder is up there for me in the comedy genre

Stripes doesn't seem as funny to younger people because a lot of the lines in it became part of the lexicon and just seem like normal speech now. Like if someone says something threatening to you and you respond with 'ooooooooohhh' or if you say 'we're going to have/do some serious _______,' that's just how people talk now, but those things were never said before Srtipes.

Bill Murray was really good for that. Another one he has is when he said in Ghostbusters 'this chick is toast.' No one had ever said something was 'toast' before, but people have used it to refer to anything after that.

ETA: oh, and MY BIG MAN HERE IS GOING TO DO IT ALL FOR US FOR FOUR HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS AND 58 CENTS!!!

The original national lampoons vacation gets funnier as I get older. I think every dad can appreciate Clark’s quest to have fun and get pissed off when it all goes to shite.

Clark, could ya spare a little?
Sure Eddie, how much need?
Bout 52k dollars.
