Everything in this article, and I mean everything, makes me respect Coach Kim Mulkey even more...

So much for this “hit piece” on Mulkey. Was kind of worried but what a dud by the Post. What a joke of an article. fricking losers

So you think Mulkey is an a-hole? Because of her political beliefs?
Pretty pathetic judgment on your part. It must be miserable to be so miserable.

Quite frankly, it’s not a horrible article. Now the threat of legal action could have resulted in some unsourced comments being removed but at the end of the day the article reveals nothing new, does provide evidence of why she’s successful, and while Griner and other former players offer comments they’re hardly damning.
Now that it’s out, we’ll see how the other media-types interpret the piece and whether THEY’LL try to give it the notoriety the author failed to capture.
The podcasters don’t worry about balanced reporting. They’ll add their own personal bias. Who will stand up to them?

Biggest takeaway is athletes these days are weak as shite.

Kent BABBling idiot from SC writes a hate piece on CKM because she isn’t woke or woke enough for his libtard arse. Coaching elite players at the highest level is tough. They hate her because they ain’t her.

I am sure that your Jesus would absolutely love you calling someone “queer boy”.. especially people like myself who like women, but have family i love who are gay.. The one consolation is that you and your ilk are dying off quickly with each generation, so you’ll get to ask your Jesus personally how He feels about you hurling insults and derogatory comments at people on Easter Eve .

It took 2 years to dig 10-15 years in the past ( and longer) and rehash old stories mostly already out on the open. And then drops it hours before a sweet 16 game, convenient. Maybe some stuff was edited out, but that was a worthless article.
If he wanted to diss a highly paid college coach that wasn’t filled with the warm and fuzzies, he should’ve taken a peek at Saban.
And this should tell you everything you need to know about the author:
“Officials claimed she[Griner] had vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage.” She did have them and admitted as much.

I’ve only read what’s been posted here and it’s mostly old news that was expected. The only people who like the article are those who already didn’t like CKM. The article is out of air. Big disappointment.

Well it could be that the article was never intended to be "negative" (as Kim and others assumed it would be) in the first place. There was certainly SOME negative stuff in there, but definitely a lot of positive stuff in there as well. It didn't come across to me as a hit piece.
Personally thought it was a well-written, interesting profile, even if it did re-hash some stuff most of us already knew. But most of us probably didn't have the background about her father and sister... that background (especially with her father) seems to have at least in part shaped who Kim is today and I thought the article did a good job articulating that.
Not saying the article was some masterpiece or anything like that but I found it worth the read...

There was an article someone else did some time back that said when her dad left her mom, she refused to have him seated with his new woman right behind her mom at her wedding. And apparently they haven't made up sense that time. So she is apparently pretty loyal.

Details matter. Was something wrong done? Maybe the scandal wasn’t a scandal. Maybe it was and she’s an a-hole. But a good reporter would give details as to why Mulkey is in the wrong here.

“I ain’t a sissy,” she said, holding a tissue and choking back sniffles. “I’ve got some kind of cold. It might be covid, but I ain’t testing.”
I like her.

their appearances and displays of their sexuality,
Good. They represent her. Dress appropriately. I can’t think of instances where a male coach praises his players for sexual conquests. Keep the bedroom out the press.
quote:
Still, whenever Mulkey sensed Griner was distracted or stressed, Mulkey blamed “girlfriend problems,” Griner later wrote, even if Griner wasn’t dating anyone.
Pretty sure I was harassed in high school for girl trouble with no girlfriend. Sounds like normal coaching. What would be insensitive would be for a coach to ask me if I had boy trouble (or the same to her, honestly).
quote:
Mulkey also called out players if they gained weight, instructing the team’s strength coach to conduct weigh-ins in front of the team, according to Griffin and another player
I have some bad news about the Golden Girls on LSU’s campus if you think this is a story.
And also every NFL team.
quote:
Players weren’t to bring non-basketball matters to Mulkey, they say, encouraged to confide in assistant coaches instead.
So there’s a chain of command so that the captain of the ship can keep it right and only tend to the matters that need to make it that far?
I’m ashamed I’ve given this much thought to such a poorly constructed nothingburger that will rile the heartstrings of some pearl clutchers who don’t understand its subject matter.

Article wasn’t that bad…how many players went thru the Baylor program for +15 years so cherry picking 2-3 bad outcomes is kinda normal.
I wish she would reconcile with her Pops and Sister but that’s her personal business which should not be our concern.
I really thought it be worse than it was
Go Coach M and Lady ?? Tigers

Makes you question the purpose for the press conference.

A women’s college basketball coach is only as good as she can recruit, and many of her recruiting targets will be lesbians; that’s just a fact.
If someone wants to impact that coach, one of the best ways to do it is to claim that she’s biased against homosexuality and that’s exactly what Babb did, and very similar what he did to Brian Kelly, except that was insinuating that Kelly was a racist.
Governor Landry has already released a social media post an hour ago supporting Coach Mulkey. Where is Tate? Will he support his coach? No because the CRT/DEI he promotes will not allow it.
