You just know MLB and the media is going to try let all this shite die down in order to cover it up. They are definitely going to try and protect Ohtani and the Dodgers.
The Braves got absolutely fricked with the whole Coppy bullshite (even though it came out that multiple teams were doing the same shite…..), but now they will protect Shohei to protect those frick stick Dodgers

Meh.... who honestly cares? As a lifelong Dodgers fan, I know I quite literally couldn't care less about this.

In MLB's defense in terms of Coppy, everyone in baseball hated him so there was some vendetta there. I think the punishment was too harsh for the crime but I see where it came from.

As long as he wasn’t blatantly throwing games, I’m fine with them protecting him.
That being said, if he’s protected, let Pete Rose free.

This situation encapsulates modern sports in the U.S.

I hate the Dodgers as much as the next non Dodgers fan, but this is about them protecting the face of baseball. Of course they are going to try and cover this shite up.

Why would the media go along with it?
Being a Dodger won't make a difference, because the media loves to tear down members of a winning team.
The only reason I can think of the media not going after the real story is because he's a minority/foreigner.
Somebody like Clay Travis, Fox News or OAN might still look for the real story, and report it.

Too bad they already used granting immunity to get to the bottom of it. Should have saved that play for something like this.

If they wanted to cover it up they never would have let it come to light in the first place

Amazingly, I’m not seeing much coverage of the situation………SHOCKING

I guess the feds are in on the coverup. Reported today:
The former interpreter for Shohei Ohtani stole more than $16 million over two years from the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar to pay off gambling debts to an illegal sportsbook, according to an affidavit filed by federal authorities Thursday.
Federal authorities filed a complaint accusing Ippei Mizuhara, 39, of bank fraud, which can carry a maximum fine of up to $1 million and/or up to 30 years in prison, according to federal sentencing guidelines.
"I want to emphasize this point: Mr. Ohtani is considered a victim in this case," U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said during a news conference in Los Angeles.
Estrada added that there was no evidence Ohtani had any knowledge of Mizuhara's gambling activities or use of his bank account to pay his debts. He said investigators combed through years of text messages between the two and found no discussion of gambling.
