Kansas State transfer guard Cam Carter is returning to his home state and has committed to LSU, he told On3.
“I’m excited to play for coach McMahon and staff,” he said to On3. “I trust they will invest in me and help me achieve my dreams. I can’t wait to represent for my city and LSU. #Bootup”
Carter, a 6-foot-3 junior, averaged 14.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game this season for the Wildcats.

6’3” Combo guard
Started for a solid K state program for 2 years, has good experience including during their tournament run last year to the elite 8
Not super efficient offensively, but he is a shot creator. Shoots 45% on 2s and 31-33% on 3’s (but good volume on both). Could see efficiency rise with better spacing around him- K State did not shoot it very well as a team and played 2 bigs together a decent amount
Think Jordan Wright/Jalen Cook role this year as a primary offensive initiator
It’s a good get.

Capable scorer and a GOOD defender. Should be a nice add. Lets get a few more starters!

Everyone excited about this pickup will be claiming he has no talent once the season starts and McMahon continues to lose.

Great, but you’re not exactly building a program if you keep bringing in these transfers with one year of eligibility.

Our odds of making the NIT next year are looking better

I like it. Good job McMahon. Good start

Meh. Can’t create shots or get to the basket as well as Mwani did for us but hopefully will defend at a higher level. If coach MM had just played Mwani more then he wouldn’t be transferring and we wouldn’t have to settle for Carter’s reduced talent.

Really nice pickup. 3-4 more of these guys. and we can be a tournament team.
