I thought this was what a 529 was for.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the cutesy acronyms politicians name bills?

And that’s the purpose of a 529.

In other words, what all conservatives have wanted for decades

Let me know when CRAWFISH passes

Yes, I know I didn't post a funny explanation of what CRAWFISH stands for. But I could think of one if I had to

Since this is not going to cause any public school kids to head to private schools, and since this isn't going to reduce the amount of money going to public schools (at least not directly), the question remains...

Where is the money going to come from to fund these accounts?

The state doesn't collect property taxes, so it can't come from there.

This is not coming from the MFP formula.

The only way to fund this is to cut other spending (sounds good) or raise taxes (sounds bad).

So, what spending are we going to cut to pay for this?

Can’t put lipstick on a pig. Quality schools are due to involved parenting and holding their kids and teachers accountable. The good schools will fall.

My children do not go to public schools. I pay out my fricking arse for all 3 of them to go to Catholic private schools.

Does this mean that the state is going to pay for my kids' private school tuition?

Because I don't understand what this law is and I feel that's by design.
