Do not by this and think you kid can hang der rings on them and play ball My kid Gunnar put his week 2 Destin World Series participations ring on der an went into home head first like hes supposed 2 but the chain broke and he loss his ring somewhere in da dirt but probably da fat catcher or blind arse umpyre got it but still the chain broke so don't by it.

Why does travel ball always get so much hate on this site? Almost every sport has a version of it now....and it really all started with soccer. Flag football, soccer, AAU basketball, golf, baseball (of course) all do it.
FWIW I get it. It's not necessary to fly around the country playing the best competition at 8 years old. My question is why is all the hated directed towards only baseball?

When it became every swinging dick to start a team. It's just so oversaturated with kids getting rings and parent "happily" bitching about being at the field 24/7. It used to be the really good kids playing travel. Now it's anyone simply to avoid playing rec ball.
I get it, and I don't get it. It's just an easy target to hate on.

Because with travel baseball, it's been co-opted into becoming more of a status symbol for the parent as opposed to the kid.

Youth sports has been “over trophied” since I was playing soccer and baseball in the 70s and 80s.
But it got ridiculous when real travel became a thing.
The Houston and D/FW areas each have close to 8 million people in the greater regions now. There are way more teams than enough to play locally without driving to Birmingham or wherever for some money grab tournament.
Volleyball has started to get just as bad.

Travel ball moms tend to be status conscious dullards who give their kids stupid names. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of hot ones. But these women are pretty basic.
Travel ball dads are typically living vicariously through their kids, and/or delusional about said kid's athletic ability. And they are cucks for going along with the stupid names their wives gave the kids.
