Houston Mechanic Reccommendation? - 2017 Chevy 5.3 ticking

Need a reccommendation for a mechanic in the Houston area for my chevy 1500. 5.3 is ticking, and I think it's the lifters possibly.
With the research I have done I believe I have ruled out an exhuast leak, the bolts look fine, and I don't see any carbon build up. I have also seen that sometimes the coils come disconnected. Those are all good too.

The 5.3 on my ‘13 Suburban is doing the same thing.

What kind of ticking. It could just be the direct injection which ticks and is completely normal.
Edit: Most lifter tick either goes away, or is drastically quieter, when the engine warms up. The DI system will always tick. It’s very noticeable when you have a wall to bounce the sound back - like in a garage or a drive through.

I drive a 2002 Chevy with 5.3 as my daily driver, 370k miles. I bought it new. At 200k miles my lifters starting tapping loud. Like had to turn off at drive thru to order loud. I talked to my mechanic and he suggested swapping to shell rotella. Heavy duty diesel oil. The ticking went away totally. I change oil since then every 5k miles and filter every 10k miles. No issues since. 5.3 is an amazing engine.

Mine did this at 100k miles. Like 105,000
Barely out of warranty.
I was quoted around $4k in 2020 because they have to fix them all or you damage cam shaft and it’s basically totaled.
I sold it.
Literally the same truck as you. And I’ve warned others.
PS: a mechanic told me to sell it because he had seen it with almost every 5.3L Chevy from that year. I straight up told the dealership salesman that sold it to me…that he sold me a lemon. He just put his head down.
Also, when I sold it, I traded it Toyota Slidell for full carmax value without the lifter cost. Tells you how much it would cost them to fix it in house.

I’ve got a 2006 with the 5.3 with 275K miles on it and it started this tapping a month ago. I thought maybe there was some gunk in the lifter itself or an oil passage.
I got some sea foam and put a double dose in the crankcase oil and ran about 200 miles then changed the oil. The lifter is no longer tapping. Hopefully, it is fixed.

LaRue Automotive. 713 774 0161 They know their stuff and a very fair and reasonable. I have been using them for gasoline vehicles since 2010 after a recommendation from the owner of an auto parts store in Stafford, TX.
James is the owner. Not sure what part of town you are in but they are more Southwest off Beltway 8 about 2 miles south of 59.
