I’ve never seen someone setup a tripod at my gym. I’m not sure if they’re banned or the people are just more normal. It’s an expensive gym so that probably helps.
It's probably not taking place because it is an expensive gym. Those places have strict policies, like no sports bras worn alone, no grunting during lifts, no throwing down weights, no cameras or talking on phones on the gym floor.
If you don't have a reputation to uphold, then you have no shame or embarrassment for certain actions. The majority of expensive gym members have that reputation to uphold.

All you do is play golf, you don’t really need to workout anyway

I would bet 10K right this second you haven't been through a fitness center door in a full year.

Back in my day we sold out entire arenas in Las Vegas for truckers to have arm wrestling matches and these young queers are showing off abs at the gym. Sad

That's why I call guys out, who do that BS, happens all the time at UREC

I re-joined UREC last year expecting a lot of this, but to my surprise, I've only seen something like this maybe twice.

Joined Lifetime in Birmingham which is one of the nicest gyms I've ever been in.
I've always been members of like warehouse powerlifting gyms with no A/C where you can do whatever you want and lift with no shirt. Super old school shite.
Anyway.....
This Lifetime gym is like an upscale health club.
When it would get packed at around 4-5pm there would be a group of like 14 year old boys doing lat pulldowns and bicep curls. They'd then take off their shirts and pose in the mirror. They'd have their friends record them, lug around a tripod the whole time, take pictures and record video.
It would always blow my mind. Like... there are middle aged women walking around, nobody else is doing this, this isn't your highschool gym....
I've been lifting for like 20 years and never seen such bizarre narcissistic behavior be so pervasive in a particular group.

Got one guy at my gym. He's pretty hard core lifter. Always has a tripod. One night I caught him. He wasn't streaming. Had his galaxy 23 ultra on criminal minds. Watches it during his workouts on the tripod.

That’s actually less embarrassing.

Imagine if your generation was born in all this technology. They would be weird too.

Had this issue last year at my gym where dudes were showing up in pajama shorts and literally taking 10-15 minutes between sets. The owner of the gym was told about it and made a dress code basically banning any pajama wear. He told a few of us that if any of the kids took more than 5 minutes between sets to just walk up and take the bar from them.
You would think it would cause a big confrontation but the first time I did it, the two dudes just stared at me and just went “what the frick?” and walked off. Situation corrected itself after that. Gen Z talks A LOT of shite online but the moment someone they don’t know talks to them they fold and just complain to their friends.

No you don't. That shite has no business being in a gym.

I cut them some slack. Most of that generation doesn't even know what gender they are, much less ever set foot inside a gym.

Good point.
Also, health and fitness is more and more being associated (by the loons on the left) with the “far right”, so maybe these kids are headed in the right direction.

I fricking hate Gen Z. My generation has become a group of self-absorbed, arrogant, immature, cliquey fricktards who care more about getting likes on an Instagram post than actually building real long-lasting relationships. They can’t separate social media from reality, and that’s a lot of the problem. More and more of them want to ditch working actual jobs and instead become social media influencers/TikTok personalities. They want to live above their means and move to touristy hotspot cities where the cost of living is 100% more than the national average because they want to brag to everyone “hEy LoOk aT mE iM LiViNg iN nYc!”
More and more of Gen Z are rejecting family values and opt to live hedonistic and materialistic lifestyles.
