Suns - Old and injured
OKC - Young and inexperienced
Nuggets - Champion and the true obstacle
Wolves - No Kat? Good Luck
Pelicans - Remain relatively healthy considering our luck
Clippers - Westbrook hurt, we have had competitive games with them
Kings - We own them
Mavs - Probably second most interesting obstacle
Warriors and Lakers - More than likely get eliminated in the Play-In
If we can avoid the Nuggets in the first round, we should in theory be the favorite in any other 1st Round matchup.
FIrst and foremost, is to absolutely secure a Playoff Birth with no Play In required. However, if we do this early enough, I would not fault the team for playing the avoid the Nuggets game in the regular season.
If Willie can just get out of his own way, this team has a pretty high probability of at minimum making the second round. Which is probably what we all would have taken at the beginning of the season.

Man, this is truly not meant to be anti Pels but obviously is by default but...
Of the top 10 seeds, there is only 1 team I'd be remotely confident that w WOULD beat in a 7 game series. The Kings.
I'd be worried as frick with any other team.

If we get the Nuggets in the first round, we have probably gotten there through the play-in in some fashion.
They aren’t dropping below 3rd minus Jokic having a catastrophic injury.

I think y'all are overlooking the warriors big time. They're 13-4 since February and are now completely healthy. They have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. I think they probably edge Sacramento abd Phoenix for the 6th seed.

yep, I now fully think it's either the Nuggets or the Warriors that come out of the west.

in those 17 games, 10 were against playoff teams.
W against Philly at home with no Maxey (philly is 6-12 since Embiid went down, and he left this game early as it's the game he got hurt)
W at Philly with no Embiid
W at Indy who are 12-13 in their last 25
W against healthy Suns
L against Clippers with no Kawhi
W against Lakers with no Lebron
L against healthy Nuggets
W at Knicks without everyone
L at healthy Celtics
W against healthy Bucks
They've had an incredibly fortunate run of victories against teams without their best players lately.
congrats on not losing to the Wizards, Hornets, Raptors, Nets, Grizz and Jazz during that time as well, and i don't mean that "that" sarcastically b/c they did beat the teams they were supposed to beat, but those teams outside of the Jazz are really bad right now.
Unless Kevon Looney finds his old self again and plays out of his mind, this team is way too flawed to win a playoff series.
Both Looney and Wiggins haven't played well this year at all, and if they don't, then they have very little chance of beating anyone in the playoffs much less winning a series. Looney barely even plays for them much anymore
Steph is good enought to possibly win a series by himself, but that team isn't good, and i'm not the least bit scared of them.

They can only play whoever is in front of them. They win games because they got their shite together. They couldn't win road games to save their lives in the first half of the year and they finally figured it out and have been 9-2 since February.
You can downplay their schedule all you want but they are winning game, got healthy, and will continue to due to their soft schedule. They've found their right mix and the results are there.

i know. and that's fine for them to close this season out, but the playoffs are different, and they legit do not have a 5 on their roster. This Looney is not the Looney from 2 years ago that helped them win it. he's 28 years old going on 42. And more importantly, Wiggins isn't playing anywhere near like he was 2 years ago.
It certainly helps win Steph is throwing up 13 threes a game and hitting them at 42%.
Steph has the lowest APG in his career this year. His team sucks, and it's been mostly all him, but he is THAT good.

You realize Curry is playing less minutes than he has the past couple of years right? With Podziemski and Paul on the team, his role as a distributor has changed a bit. His team doesn't suck. You are reaching big time.

the pels have how many good wins this year? three? four?
they are beating the teams they should beat and thats how to get to the postseason. but they are not imposing their will upon any of the teams ahead of them in the west (or the east)

I need to see if Zion can actually not get punked by Draymond before I pencil us in as a winner in a potential series with GSW

and they're 14-25 against .500 or better teams.

What constitutes a good win? We have a pretty decent record against playoff teams this year.

Unpopular opinion but the Timberwolves will fit better without KAT. Could see them going on a streak with Gobert as the primary big, allows them to play a more wing/defense oriented lineup and they still have Naz Reid off the bench

And half their games left will be against under .500 teams. And the other quarter will be against teams with key injuries. They are clearly playing better even against above .500 teams since February and I see them as a team that's playing well and are healthy at the right time.

You should just tell people you don't watch the games. It's easier than asking a question like this.

Against fully healthy top tier teams?
@OKC
Denver
@Clippers
@Minny
@Clippers
We are 19-16 against above .500 teams
Warriors are 14-25
There's only 3 teams in the east with a positive record against teams over .500, Boston and Milwaukee as expected, and somehow Indiana at 18-17, but that wont' last much longer.
The top 5 teams in the west have winning records against teams over .500.
We actually have the 2nd worst win% against teams below .500 out of the top 20 teams in the league. We are 18-9. Warriors are 19-3.

I don’t know when or why the narrative of us beating bad teams and losing to good teams started, but it’s funny to see posters make this claim. We have one of the best records against winning teams in the nba. I remember everyone hyping up Golden State last year only for them to barely beat the Kings and then get thrashed by an over rated Lakers team.
