I use to hunt but mostly fish now.

My favorite thing to do is go frogging and crabbing.

Fishing, yes. Excellent pastime and way to spend time with family/friends.

Yes without a doubt. I'm on my boat just to fish (not frick off) 150 plus days a year. My wife and I are taking the boat out tomorrow to throw sassy shad swimbaits at striped bass.

Kinda burnt out on deer hunting, but I go for the protein. I’m obsessed with flipping bass jigs/soft plastics and shooting gobblers in the face.

Given the dearth of your hunting and fishing experience, have you ever had the proclivity to steal and deal?

You're right. Some of them ride around around at night drinking beer, spotlighting, and shooting deer from across the hood of the pickup truck.

born and raised here and never hunted in my life. Not because I didnt want to. My dad didnt hunt and therefore I didn't. I do fish, though. Mostly self taught

Used to but duck hunting sucks now and I can’t justify the cost of a deer lease or a boat. I miss it though.

I used to duck hunt religiously but lost access to the land and it’s too much BS to go on public land.

I’m in a deer club where I deer and turkey hunt and we have 3 stocked lakes for fishing

I love to fish

I don't hunt much anymore but I'm still fishing as much as I ever did. I absolutely LOVED my years as a student at LSU with all the fishing available everywhere you turned. Many a weekend was spent driving down to Ponchatoula and fishing from the edge of the road in Bayou Manchac, or borrowing my uncle's boat and heading down to Bayou Sorrel, Catfish Bayou, or up to Old River or False River. Hell, a couple buddies and I would even sit on the tailgate of my truck and tightline for catfish in the lakes at LSU. (The 80s were an awesome time to be a student.)

Here, north of Atlanta these days, I've found myself on the Chattahoochee nearly every weekend fly fishing for trout.

Brother, if you're living in Louisiana, make the most of it. There are few places on earth where you can enjoy fishing (and catching) within a five minute drive from just about anywhere! You're smack in the middle of a fisherman's paradise! It'll give you an excuse to buy a boat too. Doesn't have to be fancy. Even a johnboat with a 10HP motor will serve the purpose.

Both. Avid duck hunter and inshore. Own a camp for the family to enjoy as well

I do but harder since we no longer live in the south and have access to family land. Plenty of places to fish. My middle daughter grew up hunting with me (actually killed the biggest deer between the two of us) but she is married and has a baby now and no longer does. It’s not too late to learn.

So because you hunt you'd be able to save civilization or at least your family and neighborhood if the entire world fell to shite?

Yes, both. I love going to deer camp in the fall to drink and watch football regardless if I kill anything.

There are more people in this state like you than not. I did both when I was younger and got out of it but my oldest son pulled me back in. I took all the kids fishing pretty young but he loves both and even bought a lifetime combo license with his own money at 12.
