Not going to be the same game as it was when they came here. Brazile is back so will have a rim protector in the lane. Didn't play when Baker had his 25 pt performance so this will be a key matchup. Only things ARK does better than LSU is block shots and get to the FT line. Pretty simple math. Prevent dribble penetration by the guards and move your feet not your hands. They shot 33 FT last time at our house and it's the only reason we didn't win by 40.They played with KY last game so we shouldn't act like Vandy beating them means they've given up. Need total team effort tonight. ARK has underperformed but they have talent and owe us for an arse whipping last time.

Arky wins tonight; that's a pretty easy call. May not be close, like the Miss State game

Also Jalen Cook had a role in the first game; he's gonzo now.

A lot may depend on whether Arkansas has thrown in the towel on this horrible season which had a lot of expectations. It is their senior night so that may amp things up a bit. LSU seems to have reached a point where they are fearless and adversity doesn't faze them. The Miss. state loss was probably just a case of fatigue setting in after the murderers row they had navigated for a month. This may prove to be an under 5 point game either way

The interesting thing is during the season when we got on a losing streak, no one would have dreamed we would still be talking LSU basketball in March. That is CMM and he will have us winning going forward.

Arkansas is the more talented team man for man, but they’ve rarely played like it this season. Particularly in SEC play. If they are focused they SHOULD beat LSU at home. But I don’t think anyone can be certain a 14-15 squad will be focused.

A win tonight coupled with what should be a win on Saturday probably locks up a NIT spot and possibly a finish in the top half of the SEC standings. That doesn’t necessarily make this a “good” season relative to college basketball as a whole, but it would be FAR better than anyone could have reasonably imagined at the beginning of 2024

Going to be a lot harder to win than the first game, but I still think we can do it.

Winning at bud is always tough. Like someone else said winning tonight and vs Mizzou probably locks up the NIT. Which would be NOICE.
