This thread raises another topic. How come we no longer have anyone like Da Vinci, Aristotle, Plato, Galileo, Thomas Jefferson etc. Einstein was the last of the greats.

I’ll like to say, in sports, Tiger Woods.

John Browning
What MF'er downvoted this legend (even Kalashnikov?)
Browning also designed many weapons (which the US has used) for Fabrique Nationale (Belgian.) for over a hundred years.
You downvote Browning? There are five? generations of people that hit the butterfly triggers on the Ma-Deuce alone, and someone downvotes? I don't know if there a sound of gunfire that is more iconic, than the M2 has been for 80+ years. GAU-8 is next, obv.

Ancient times: Archimedes, Aristotle, Alexander the Great
Renaissance: Newton, Leibniz, Da Vinci
Modern era: Einstein, Von Neumann
It's hard to pick one.

I disagree. I think genius takes time to shake out. We all know Hawking is a genius, for instance, but we may not know how much of a gangster for a few decades.

Da Vinci. Dude could literally do anything at an elite level
Almost anything. I don’t think he makes this play.

Da Vinci killed across several fronts so I’m not sure if this answer counts.
