My dad

Engineer, college football player, musician, farmer, welder, plumber, installed his own a/c, dry wall, floors, and electrical in his home, and the list goes on and on

We actually called him “The S/O” which stood for the skilled one.

RIP S/O

David Hackworth. Hal Moore came later.

In the Vietnam era, there may have been no better leaders that learned from history than those two at their level.

My father.
He was a licensed electrician for a fortune 500 company. He built our home by himself except for the plumbing (a mistake could be costly). There was nothing he couldn’t fix or do himself ….automobiles, appliances, a/c, roofs, fencing, gardening, etc. In my lifetime I never seen him hire anyone to do anything for our family or for us children after we were married. His motto was, “Never pay someone to do something that you can do yourself.”
I bought a home already built but part of the wooden fence needed to be replaced. We replaced that section ourselves. Two almost direct hits of hurricanes did not knock that part of the fencing down. All the other sections were blown down twice which I contracted out.
I sure do miss him. He was my best friend. We did a lot of stuff together.

Chinese Chairman Mao….he starved 80 million of his people to death and they still worship him to this day.

It is amazing what a charismatic leader can convince people to do…
