Did Ron running help or hurt him?

Simple question looking for the boards opinion here.

I think it hurt him short term with the America First crew, but the experience will benefit him in the long run.

It unquestionably hurt him as a large segment of the GOP now loathes him for daring to challenge Trump because he thought he could do a better job as President.

Absolutely.

The low IQ Trump crowd deemed him toxic due to a lack of perceived loyalty.

They destroy anyone in Trumps way.

Not sure he’d be my first choice for president, but I think he could beat Biden. Trump can’t beat Biden.

It hurt him, perhaps fatally.

No doubt with the MAGA contingent. They've made up their minds and will never change.

I don't think it will hurt him much in 2028, especially if the rest of the field are idiots like Nikki and Chris Christie. He endorsed Trump and will campaign hard in Florida for him like he did in 2020.

It hurt him in terms of seamlessly adopting MAGA for 2028. He can still adopt MAGA but it's not going to be as seamless as it could have been. Time is on Ron's side now and time heals wounds.

What would be a great start if Ron supported the Florida AG in some lawfare. Time for Ashley Moody to make a name for herself and Ron be her wingman. Start an investigation on Jack Smith, Hunter Biden or Lisa Monaco. I sure they have broken some Florida laws somewhere.

He will have a difficult time beating Josh Hawley in a primary, IMO.

It hurt him with the outright lies coming out of the Trump camp. The clown show bloodied him up good the first six months of 2023. IMO the race was over before he got in it.

"DeSantis wants to destroy SS and Medicare". "DeSantis is a RINO globalist". etc etc.

Problem is too many low IQ GOP voters believe that garbage.

He has work to do to fix it.

Whether or not he can overcome it remains to be seen.

I think it hurt him for the near future.

I’m not sure if it hurt him for the long term (2028). I think it’s too soon to know.

Hopefully he learned some valuable lessons like never again hiring the people who managed his campaign.

He fricked himself for '28 IMO. He showed he wasn't true to himself and instead, followed the stooges from his PAC.

I said it before and will say it again, Ron will never be President of the United States.

And frankly, he's not even likeable/affable as a person although most of his policy decisions have been top notch so I'll give him that.

It hurt him. This process taught us all he’s a GOPe, RINO, sexual predator.

Thank goodness we found all that out.

Based on what?

Nobody outside of people online 24/7 are going to care about him running this time

I'm with this so-called "MAGA contingent" and will support DeSantis in '28 as long as he stays away from folks like the Bush Gang and doesn't listen to pollsters like Frank Luntz. I will not vote for Nikki Haley under any circumstances, though.
