That is insane. I can’t believe everybody was okay. Especially that first bus/vehicle.

WOW! I live in a mountainous area and see those signs frequently, as well as rocks in the road….but me and a falling rock have never, thankfully, intersected.

And those aren’t rocks. They are car sized boulders!

I drove the low road in New Mexico along the Rio Grande between Albuquerque and Taos. Constant threat and very nerve wracking.

That was awesome--like straight out of some kind of armegeddon movie.

What do those signs actually accomplish though?

Rockslides closed off I-40 near Ashville, NC about 5 years ago. I don't think any vehicles got caught up in it.

It’s easy to take the flat roads in LA and TX for granite.

I've seen the signs lots of times when riding up in the mountains of S.E. U.S.

I laugh at the futile attempt to contain them with the side of the hill covered in what looks like large chain link fencing--------like that will hold back an avalanche of any size

Got caught in a small one in a box canyon in Utah many years ago. Dad was driving and sped up to get past a TV sized boulder but we ran over a basketball sized rock in the process. shite is like playing Frogger. The rock knocked out the power steering and damaged the undercarriage of the car. The car was a rental and Dad declined the insurance so we got hit with a massive bill. Moral of the story - keep your eyes on the cliff and get insurance for your rental.
