That is insane. I can’t believe everybody was okay. Especially that first bus/vehicle.

WOW! I live in a mountainous area and see those signs frequently, as well as rocks in the road….but me and a falling rock have never, thankfully, intersected.
And those aren’t rocks. They are car sized boulders!

Nope but I’ve seen tons of Alligator Crossing signs

I drove the low road in New Mexico along the Rio Grande between Albuquerque and Taos. Constant threat and very nerve wracking.

That was awesome--like straight out of some kind of armegeddon movie.
What do those signs actually accomplish though?

Liability protection? I honestly don’t know.

To help make you aware and cautious of a threat you most likely weren’t aware of at all.

Rockslides closed off I-40 near Ashville, NC about 5 years ago. I don't think any vehicles got caught up in it.

Avalanches are a bigger threat on Driskill.

I-b40 between Tennessee and North Carolina has comparable rock slides, just in the three miles east of the State line. (Lucky NC highway department gets to do the repairs.). If you drive that often, you've noticed all their attempts to catch the boulders before the rocks meet the road.

It’s easy to take the flat roads in LA and TX for granite.
