Not so much to be used against Herridge but to smoke out her source(s) at the FBI. I suspect that Chen's activities are embarrassing to certain high ranking military members .

How can any judge rule against a journalist here for breaking news from a whistleblower?

The FBI doesn’t not need protection. It needs an enema.

This is 2024....have you been paying attention lately?

There are no "tinfoil hats" anymore.

There are no "conspiracy theories" anymore.

That’s a fact. Maybe a small handful remaining, if even that.

Lots of propagandists dominating the airwaves nowadays doing the bidding of their corporate/political masters.

Read the article. Supposedly Herridge got the info from a confidential source associated with the FBI. FBI had been investigating Chen and then dropped the case sometime in 2016. Herridge ran the report in 2017.

Chen had been running a school that supposedly attracted ex military types to attend. Chen was a naturalized US citizen but "forgot" to divulge that she was former PLA. The Americans attending the school were helped via tuition assistance via the DOD. FBI closed the case in 2016 saying they had nothing on her which is probably them saying they were told to drop it by either someone in the executive end or someone at DOD in the SECDEF office or the NSA. Herridge is being used to smoke out the source which she is resisting. This ain't about the FBI so much as Defense and the NSA. Probably at least a few million dollars was paid to Chen by the DOD and she probably found a way to share the "student" info with the ChiComs.

Anyone that believes Herridge was "laid off" is a fool. Corporate layoffs are a tool to get rid of dead weight, high salaries and malcontents without having to worry about lawsuits, discrimination complaints, etc.

Herridge is a highly-sought after and productive journalist. She is not the type of person that gets laid off without underlying reasons.

The seizing of her property when they never did that to anyone else tells the story.

That's where you jump the shark. E.g., who was VPOTUS at that time? Who was AG? Director of the FBI? In 2016, the FBI was operating nefariously, and basically untethered. Leadership and its motivations were questionable. Could it not be that someone within the Bureau wanted to blow it up?

Could be, but more of a possibility that DOD/NSA wanted the story quiet. CIA .....maybe, they certainly would not care. But ask yourself, who is more embarrassed about the activities, the FBI or the Intel Agencies and Defense. DOD money is at the heart of Herridge's story.

If the story is to be believed the DOD funded the spying operation of the Chinese by paying this "school" If you were them, would you not want it dropped and know who dropped the dime on them from the FBI?

A 2017 story? Golly gee that was so long ago. I'm sure she would gladly tell them, if she could remember who they were.
