Thoughts?

In other states, ivf clinics can be found liable for negligence if they mishandle a couple’s embryo. Alabama is about to abolish that

If a corporation negligently lets a random stranger kill human embryos, should the parents of those embryos be able to sue that corporation?

Alabama lawmakers say no

I wasn’t a fan of the Alabama Supreme Court ruling, but this new law seems like an insane overreaction to that ruling, and will do more harm than good.

quote:

In an email, Notre Dame law professor
@cartersnead
calls Alabama IVF bill "a shocking error in judgment that will have catastrophic results, including a cascade of unintended harmful consequences for IVF patients

Liberals overreact to a weird case.
Conservatives overreact to the overreaction.

America.

That law (lawyers) got hooked up to the Medical Board of Alabama financially?

Either a fertilized egg is a “baby” or it’s not. Get your shite together. Your lack of logical consistency confirms that conservatives are a bunch of ignorant clowns.

I guess the embryos will file suit under the equal protection clause. They are children after all.

Bottom line. Why are the courts and legislators stupid in Alabama?

That's a terrible bill and it won't pass on that form.

Except people do have a problem with it. Conservatives have been on this insane warpath about how “life begins at conception!!!” If you take that stupid stance, the ruling in Alabama is the logical progression.

How is abandoning fertilized eggs different than abortion?

It's not. But I've not met an anti-IVF conservative. I'm sure they exist.

I view the IVf exception just like folks argue for exceptions for when abortion is acceptable.

It's not different though to answer your question.

How's it different when a pregnant lady is killed and the murderer is charged with a double homicide? Life is a life.

Republicans just can’t help themselves. Leave the entire abortion/ life topic alone until 2025. fricking idiots. Giving ammo to the crazy left child killers.

So this means no action for negligence or breach of contract. So parents who pay for IVF cannot recover if the embyros they paid for are destroyed through negligence. Do people read these bills, or not?

IVF does not require abandoning fertilized eggs.

But it’s widely accepted by the same people that claim fertilized eggs are babies and that because so, abortion is murder.

So your point is moot.

Right, because as I said, IVF can be performed with intentionally destroying any embryos.

Bills passed both houses with almost identical language. One of the two will clear by early next week.

It has an expiration date, though. It's temporary until they can fix what the imbecile Tom Parker fricked up.

The schizophrenic lack of philosophical consistency here is amazing.

Of course they did. Democrats are all about getting conservatives to go along with IVF, surrogacy, the whole industry. Once conservatives sign on to IVF, and all of the baby freezing and ultimately destroying that goes along with it, with what authority can they turn around and then condemn abortion?

This is called checks and balances, dumbass. In any issue regardless of topic, the courts will make a ruling, the legislature will re-regislate, someone else will take it to court... This is how the system works.

But you got your weak punch in. Maybe go write "orange man bad' in your journal like ten times to feel good about yourself.
