Wrong she has 0 points in a men’s game

No, she's the NCAA women's basketball all time scorer.
NCAA completely ignores that college women's basketball was played before it was included in the NCAA.

She won't break anything.
This is her FOURTH year as a college player.
Her freshman year point total - 780 counts in her
total. Maravich's did not.
Pete accomplished his record in THREE years.
Add the fact that he scored 751 in his
freshman year, and he'd have over 4400 points
if they allowed that.

Pistol did it in 3 years, freshmen were not allowed to play varsity back then. She deserves all the accolades and praise, but we have to put it in perspective.

Despite what some would want us to believe, men and women are different and they DO NOT compete in the same version of the sport. When Clark has more total points than Pistol that does not give her "the most points in basketball", no more than Pat Summit's win does not make her "the winningest coach in basketball:.
In both cases, they hold THE WOMEN"S BASKETBALL RECORD!!!!!

All we can do at this point is root for a devastating injury. Sad that the media has put us in this position but here we are... Right guys?

Pistol Pete did it before the 3-point line and when there was no shot clock
If you count Pete’s freshman scores she is still 815 points shy.

Caitlin Clark is just 75 points away from breaking Pistol Pete's D1 scoring record
People need to quit saying that. Her scoring record is a different scoring record because it's in women's basketball. It's not even on the same playing field, so it's not comparable. She'll have the women's scoring record, Pistol will have the men's, as it is in all sports.

As others have said, it is not the same record. There are significant differences in men and women’s college basketball, including the big one that women use a smaller ball but same size hoop. That alone makes the game different and records cannot be compared.
Clark is a great player, but in a different sport. It’s also why comparing D1 to D3 is different too. Competition levels are significantly different.
Just celebrate Clark without falsely connecting her to another sport.

Caitlan Clark would not see the court if she played MBB for a major program.

Nobody will ever be considered his equal because of these two facts.
