There's always been corruption but it's easier to spread bullshite with 24/7 propaganda media machine and social media.

It’s as bad as I’ve seen because federal, state and municipal law enforcement has been captured by idealogues and not only chooses what laws they want to enforce but targets political enemies. This has given those in power or those who benefit from these policies the freedom to do whatever they want with no repercussions.

I don't even think we need to address Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson or Richard Nixon.

Hell no it has never been this bad in regard to the Leadership of this Nation. Many or even most of the men that Founded, defended and promoted our Constitutional Republic thereafter were men of exceptional courage and virtue. Politics of today has become as rotting flesh is to a maggot fly as today’s politicians flock in to feed their status and relative affluence. The Good Book speaks of “the blind leading the blind “ and both going into the ditch. Albeit the Transnational Progressive Intelligensia are totally persuaded re the dire necessity of their absolute control (Fascism) and Global unification of government in order to save Humanity/Earth. Herding cats based on lies and deception won’t cut it IMO, but I’m not that smart so who knows. We’ll find out soon.

Thanks to the media we can get "some" of the news in real time instead of reading about corruption in history books. Our media "sources", however, are questionable given that they "bow to their master's" agenda (thinking MSNBC for one). And, of course, the media passes on what they garner from the CIA, FBI, etc., agencies with their own credibility issues.

There's always been corruption. I mean the CIA murdered JFK so it's been there a long arse time. But the difference is the internet and social media. They recognized it's potential for mind control and developed it far beyond just that. Right up till Musk bought Twitter out from under them and exposed what they did. Since then it's been straight up panic by the establishment cabal.

When they realized that, they turned up the volume on the MSM propaganda outlets. They have so many ways to recursively support any narrative they want to put forth. Just like what they did to create the Muh Russians narrative. They used five eyes for support. They used the media who would report anything they're told to, then cycle that around enough to where it then becomes 'truth'. Why just look your honor! There's so much smoke the fire is now just a fact, right?

As they get more desperate, they have to pull out the big guns 24/7. Full on fear and panic screamed at you nonstop forever by hairdo counts in designer suits and stage makeup reading what they're told to say. Back in the Walter Cronkite days, that was all you needed to do. The plebes didn't have any other source of news so that was the truth. But now, you can get information from anywhere and they can't stop you. Thus the panic.

Mix of both. It’s always been bad. However, with more becoming aware of it and trying to expose it, they are having to get bolder.
