Exactly!

I’m sure the hoodrats in south Chicago who have glock switches agree with your statement. And Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet it’s in the top 10 most violent cities in the US. Criminals don’t give a frick about gun laws, they never have and never will. Law-abiding citizens should have the right to defend themselves in the public. Period.
I’d rather live in a place where people are civilized and we don’t have to defend ourselves.
People in this country are animals. From all races (except the Asians of course)

Suburban white women are the reason why the anti-gun movement exists. They’re pussified cucks who think that the world should be this happy, bubbly place where everyone is nice to each other and no violence happens. That’s not how the real world works, and it will never be that way. Our species has always been prone to violence throughout history. People need to man up and accept that.
Am I condoning violence? No, but you have to be prepared for it if something happens. You can’t depend on police to protect you 24/7, only you can do that. A firearm is the best self-protection tool a man could ask for. And notice how I said “tool”, because that’s what they are, nothing more.

You think only LEO and military should have guns? That’s what the whole anti-gun argument revolves around. It’s not about “gun control”. It’s about disarming citizens and putting all of the firepower in the hands of LEO and military personnel.
That's not what I said, at all.
As a former 0311 combat Marine, when the shite hits the fan in say a grocery store shooter situation, my preference would to be surrounded by similarly experienced personnel. Won't ever happen like that, but Spray and Pray doesn't work, that's how you get the wrong civilian killed. I'm concerned that scenario will occur.
Every citizen should own firearms, for recreational shooting at the range, hunting or just clinking tin cans in the back yard. And, of course, for home and public defense.
Outside the home there should be some level of demonstrated proficiency to carry lethal weapons.

What about cars? They are highly regulated. How many deaths do they cause per year?
As a former service member, I would say an infantryman is going to be the epitome of spray and pray. And with the gung ho mentality, someone with your background might escalate the situation vs de-escalate? So maybe us former service members need more training to carry concealed?
You say every citizen should own firearms, but you have to qualify that includes for home and public defense. Maybe you should revisit the Constitution and your oath. None of those were cited in the Constitution you swore to defend. But yea, we should def have our firearms for plinking and recreational shooting.

I’m still trying to decide if this is a good idea. Part of me says frick yeah. Another part of me knows way too many people who shouldn’t carry a gun, but will now. Here’s to dangerous freedom!

I am against this. If some kid is carrying with intent to shoot some other kid I like the police being able to arrest him for no other reason than that he has a concealed weapon.

I hope this is how it plays out, but I have my doubts.

Louisiana has strange laws. 21 to buy a pistol, but I think an 18-20 can legally own one.

21 for pistols, 18 for shotguns and rifles for buying. 21 can own all. It is a little weird.

quote:And another thing about your statement, if a kid is concealed carrying it’s still illegal because of their age. They do it all the time now. Look at the KC Superbowl celebration. Two youths carrying guns illegally.
If some kid is carrying with intent to shoot some other kid I like the police being able to arrest him for no other reason than that he has a concealed weapon.
And if you’re a convicted felon, it’s still illegal to even own a gun, much less carry one. But that never stops them anyway.
This law just allows lawful citizens to carry without going through the permit process. Hopefully people with no firearms experience will get some training before they exercise their rights.

So you can carry a gun at 18 but can’t buy a beer at 18.
