Or is how he finishes will help you decide?

Absolutely. This guy is building a program and we need to be patient with him. He just set his new standard. Lets ride!!!!!

I support him. I want the best for him and most certainly the best for the LSU Tigers. We need to keep winning and showing improvement.
But this place would be completely different tonight if that last play is blocked and rebounded by Kentucky.
This place is the home of good and bad overreactions.

The back to back wins is a good sign. Hopefully this is a turn around moment and he is getting his legs of how to be successful in the sec.

I will be honest and admit I've been harsh on MM earlier in the year at times where I've been more emotional. I do have some issues with his coaching, and I've pointed them out. I had issues with his predecessors, too. No coach is perfect nor are they every fan's cup of tea.
I do think MM is a good coach. I think it took him a while to fully adjust to the responsibility that is LSU. I think his first year happened, and it sucked, but we need to move on. I think that although our prospects were obviously better than 2-16 SEC, I think that our roster was genuinely garbage. Juice Hill and Kendal Coleman are the WORST players I've ever seen put on an LSU jersey. I don't even think John Wooden could make the NCAAT with those guys.
Our roster is a lot better than last year and I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised with our record this year. Bear in mind we have had a HARD schedule both in and out of conference, with our most difficult SEC games already behind us. We've done better than expected and we're gonna finish strong these last few SEC games.
McMahon's players this year obviously love him and playing for LSU. Our boys play hard, and they want to win. I can't say the same for last year... I think what's gonna hold us back will always be recruiting. We need to hire someone to help out with recruiting.

A couple of things I've noticed from a very "layman's" perspective:
1. He must have lit a fire under their butts about rebounding (sometthing about being 300th or so nationally in rebounding).
2. He's more active on the sideline, roaming and directing plays/players on both ends of the court.

You’d think the guy won the title last night by the majority of the posts on here. The guy beat two decent teams and you have these assholes taking victory laps and talking like he just solidified himself as our coach for the next 10 years. The overreactions to these two wins are 10 times dumber than when his critics bash him when it’s unwarranted

It was a good win and fun to watch.
I like how this team keeps playing til the end lately. Hard work beats talent type of thing.

It does change how I feel about the season so far.

No, firing WW set the program back 5-10 years. MM is a sunbelt type coach.

People want to celebrate big wins. The audacity.
It’s not like LSU basketball fans have had a lot to cheer about the last couple years. Let people have fun.

Money Mac has been fricking cooking this week.
I want to love him.
Can't have a collapse to end the year.
If he does the unthinkable and runs the table the rest of the regular season, the momentum is there to really step this shite up next year.

Well LSU Big Mo (momentum) on their side and you ride it. Big Mo infects the whole program and makes recruiting easy, coaching easy, and more importantly the breakthrough to establish a winning program. Let’s sit back and if Matt M is “the” coach it will fall into place. Let’s enjoy the shift.

If they run the table in league play he may be on some coach of the year lists.
All the more impressive considering Miller & Cook were both disappointments.

I’ve never disliked the coach and thought he deserved a chance. I was a fan of Wade as well.
Posted on 2/22/24 at 7:53 am to LSUSlidell23
No, Wade is better overall. He’s had some upsets this year, but that’s not the end all be all. He has to get better each year. At the same time look at McNeese.

Anyone who thought we could beat SC and KY without Cook was dreaming. I understand he hasn’t won anything yet but he has shown he can coach, he can develop players and he can motivate his team. If he figures out the recruiting we’ll be fine. Anyone saying different is just a hater. Ward, Reed, Wright, Hannibal Fountain and Baker all better players now than they were at beginning of the season.

Some people are capable of seeing past a number in the W-L column when rebuilding… It’s a program advancing win, in what is likely to be a program advancing season.
You can always tell the posters who don’t know anything about ball because their opinions blow with the wind — McMahon is a good coach & should do well here.
