This is going to come back to haunt conservatives, as “life begins at conception” will seem ridiculous to millions of reasonable people due to this ruling. It’s a Pyrrhic victory for religious nuts.

Was the original thread going so poorly for people making your argument that you felt compelled to start a new thread in an effort to salvage your nonsensical opinions on this matter?

This is a classic case of what happens when you have identity politicians instead of trained lawyers making laws.
Reminds me of the vote to “make the right to bear arms a fundamental right” cir. 2012. Only after it passed did the right wingers realize that made it harder to deprive convicted felons of the right to buy firearms after they get out of prison.

You're a moron.

This thread is what happens when progs are mad that not enough babies are being killed.

These are the idiotic things “conservatives” do to turn off voters. They die on some of the dumbest hills and fix absolutely nothing in the process

This is a horrible decision that could have a tragic consequences for couples trying to have a family.

Wait, what about the poor zygotes?

This doesn’t limit anybody’s ability to offer or use IVF.
UAB stopped offering IVF today to avoid the likelihood of it's doctors being prosecuted.

I really don't understand what Alabama is trying to do here
Despite multiple cautionaries, including those on this site, human-at-fertilization is THE POSITION, period! Any position comes with consequences. An IVF accident is one of the consequences.

This is just accelerating idiocracy becoming real life. Poors can’t abort and the rich educated can’t get test tube babies anymore. Just more dummies coming soon to a city near you. Gonna be great. I’m glad I’ll be dead.

Hell, what's to stop the state from charging a woman who has miscarried with negligent homicide?

Nothing that our imaginations can’t collectively hold.

If a lab tech drops an embryo container can they be charged with negligent homicide?
Under this ruling, yes.
I expect Alexander shunnarah to advertise soon

It’s about time for me to move out of Alabama I think.

Not me. I’m going there, putting a bunch of tubes of jizz in a freezer and then claiming them all as dependents on my taxes.

Anyone have the actual ruling or link to it & not just hyperbole from the fake news?

Well, in the most litigious state in the country, Louisiana, it sure hasn’t stopped hospitals from offering IVF, and the laws have been that way for decades.
Maybe the board at UAB is as misinformed as most of the people in this thread.

Is it? Because no one with a brain has any problem with this at all.

I have no problem with people who complete their sentences, fully, being given back their rights.
