Since he bought the Rockets seven years ago, Tilman Fertitta hadn't said too much publicly about the NHL. Until this week. | Tilman Fertitta: Talks to bring NHL team to Houston have intensified

I hope something comes of this, this time. I would be stoked to have an NHL team here.

Huh?

Thought it was pretty widely known he wanted an NHL team at the Toyota center and he has recently been pursuing the Cayotes

Been hearing that since he bought the Rockets.

Been told by a friend who works with Preds, that Houston is one of favs to get a team. They have gone from possible to top8, to one of favs. They love what the Owner and City would bring, and have always been happy with Aeros and their fans. Atlanta continues to move up, but NHL wants to make sure Arena is in best place possible, and best access to fans. NHL believes arena placement is why the flames and thrashers failed.

Take it with a grain of salt, but he's usually good on NHL shite, when he texts me stuff.

Is he willing to pour a bunch of upgrades into the Rockets arena? Someone is going to have to if Houston gets a team.

This will rank as a franchise

ETA: meant to say tank, but rank maybe works due to the shite smell of Houston, or maybe they do well and rank high?

Idk I’ve had many post work beers.

Edmonton existing ruins the possibility of an epic Bud Adams clap back.

Houston makes a lot of sense for a Hockey team - they have a ton of Northerners in the city. SLC would be another good location if the NHL expands.
