This will be a very tough game for the Tigers. Despite being ranked #17, this is a worse matchup for LSU than their past game vs. #11 South Carolina. The advanced analytics showed that the game at SC was very winnable. They tell a different story for tonight. UK can score with the best of them, and don't be surprised if they run LSU out of the gym.

I'd be a little surprised. Outside of the 4 games vs. Alabama (2x), Tennessee and Auburn, LSU has at least been competitive. And 3 of those 4 games were on the road. I guess the question is "is Kentucky on par with Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn"? The analytics seem to suggest Kentucky is a click behind them (KenPom ranking: Auburn (4), Alabama (5), Tennessee (6), Kentucky (22)). Of course, the counter to that argument is that while they haven been on par with those teams for most of the season they are getting into that territory now with the way they have played in the last week.
Regardless, both teams are coming in playing with probably the most confidence they've had all season.

In the past 15 years or so we have played Kentucky really tough. Hopefully that trend continues tonight.

UK can match Bama on offense and when actually focused can be pretty good defensively. I would put them right there with UT, Bama, & Auburn. IMHO, a win tonight would be significantly more impressive than winning at South Carolina.

Crowd needs to “bring it”
Hopefully, the 8:00 pm tip doesn't scare away too many in the beat the traffic / get to bed early crowd

This team deserves a packed house tonight!

No the team needs to rebound their arses off and play defense.

The 6:00 pm games are MUCH more of a pain in the arse for working adults.
Like every weekday game the students are going to have to carry the water in terms of crowd support. Metro BR will have to carry the rest, because it's too tough for many outside of Metro BR to attend a weeknight game. The 8:00 pm start actually gives MORE working folks a chance to attend.
According to LSUtix.com there are PLENTY of seats available in the upper level.

It will come down to what LSU does. If they try to run back and forth with UK they probably will get run out of the gym.
They have a shot if they come in with a game plan involving an active, tight defense with rebounding and limiting UK's second-chance baskets. Think first half vs Alabama in the PMAC (heck, even the game in Bama). One real key will be those guys not losing composure if there is a run by UK, that's what happened in the second half vs Bama and didn't happen vs USCe.
The other is to not let the game get away from them in the first part of the game, that's what happened in the other two blowouts, at Tennessee and Auburn. In those games, they dug a deep hole and could not climb back out.
UK seems to be on the upswing so I think LSU will need a solid half of basketball and a great half of basketball in no particular order.

If they can pull this off I think everyone will feel excited about the future.
