The power of compounding interest in a 529 plan. I did the same for 18 years for my two boys and wound up with $390,000 for their college. Paid for 5 years between the two of them thus far and still sitting on $244k.

This is actually a spit in the face to gov employees who had to take less money for 10 years than working in the private sector. Now they have opened it up to those people as well.

Yet here I am having paid/in the process of paying 100% out-of-pocket for undergrad degrees for all 3 of my kids, a masters degree for one of them and medical school for another. Not to mention that my wife and I took out loans back in the day for our college then planned for and paid every dime back. frick this clown show.
