If it wasnt us, it would have been someone else.

The USSC unanimously ruled the NCAA cannot place restrictions on player being compensated for use of their NIL. So even this regulation you suggest NIL is not going to be effected.
That is not what the Supreme Court decided. "the Supreme Court upheld a district court ruling that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules limiting education-related compensation violated section 1 of the Sherman Act". The case was about money related to education (laptops, graduate school scholarships, study abroad programs).
One justice, one of the less impressive ones at that, wrote a concurrence and in dicta said that non-education expenses maybe should be allowed as well.
Dicta is just a a comment, suggestion, or observation made by a judge in an opinion that is not necessary to resolve the case, and as such, it is not legally binding on other courts. No other justice signed their name to his concurrence.

He’s worth 1 mill, first round talent

How do you know the kid didn't embellish what he told Chadwell?
I don't, and neither do you or the guy I was responding to.

I doubt LSU paid 300k for a WR and couldn't get a good CB or DT to come here. You gotta be huffing paint to not see that.
I saw somewhere they both Smith and Wingo were offered 500k to come back for one year, and both declined.
So you think they offered $1 million between 2 guys, but say there is no possible way they offered $300k to a WR?
The guy I was responding to said Chadwell had "no fricking clue what he got" but he somehow knows $100k or below. I want to know why he thinks he knows what LSU is paying CJ.

Posters were complaining that we took him that thread would make quite a bump a year from now

Crazy thing is. Liberty probably has just as much money .. they aren’t poors

I’m kind of upset by this. 300k could have been better utilized for a DB or a DL
It would seem that perhaps the head coach thinks differently than you on the matter.

Maybe he should look at potential players LSU processes or the thousands that jump in the portal with no place to go.

I would like to hear Dick Vitale's take on this.

Mark Twain once said, “Believe half of what you are certain of, and none of what the football coach from Liberty puts out there to trigger people on the internet.”

It's sad that this is what CFB has become. Why even make them enroll in school? Just make it a full blown pro league using school names. The term student athlete is a joke

It was this a long time ago. NIL just made it legit.

Nolan was probably 5 times that much. No sense in paying a transfer unless you think they are a difference maker. Hopefully the spring will be different.

This is how NIL should work. Guy has proven himself at a lower level school. He gets some cash for his future, a place to live, and a car to get around.
Meanwhile TAMU is dropping millions on high school seniors.

What is amazing is that some think that payers just started getting paid when NIL started. Players have been getting paid for decades. LSU has paid players along with every other SEC school for as long as anyone here has been alive for the most part.

LSU paid for a car and an apartment and like $300,000. What do you do?
Lets not kid ourselves to think these top universities like LSU haven't been paying "perks" like cars and apartments, long before NIL...
However, I'm not sure how this is sustainable. Assuming LSU is paying starters on average $350k like mentioned, that's $3.8MM per year for 11 starters on offense.
Do same for Defense and total comes to $7.7MM for team starters.

The "new system" will just further consolidate power into fewer and fewer hands as has been accomplished in every other area of public intercourse. No more App State beating Michigan in the Big House-the stuff of CFB legend.
