I do my own with full synthetic every 5k miles for just about $50 (6qts and filter) and it takes less than 10 minutes.
Rotate the tires, too.

$20 with me providing the oil and filter

At the dealership with their online coupon about $50 for my Tundra. Oil change and tire rotation. Cheaper than I can do it myself.

That's excessive. My vehicle calls for a 15k change interval but I do 10-12k. Depending on the vehicle, you shouldn't need to change full synthetic with a good filter sooner than 7500, but 10k more likely.

I've never paid someone to change the oil in my vehicles, tractors, mowers, etc. I enjoy doing it myself.
My teenaged boys change their own oil. They don't appreciate having to do it now, but they will when they get older.
It does help that I have an easy place to do this and not in the driveway.
Oh and my wife does all the cooking and cleaning. Because, that's women's work.

It's an older vehicle with higher mileage. I find it relaxing. Also, never have to worry about not catching excess consumption.

Take 5 oil change. You sit in car. I use my $20 off coupon. They like to do other things that is not necessary to car . Like drain your fluids and ask for $200 for new fluids.

Right at $100, that's for Tire Rotation and 8 quarts of synthetic and oil filter from the dealership.

Had to have mine changed yesterday. I have all the stuff and know how to do it, but I was off work and really didn't feel like spending my day off changing it myself. I had a $20 off coupon and still had to spend $70. After they took an hour to change it and then still charged me $70, I shoulda just changed it myself at that point.

5k for full synthetic? Ain't that a little quick?
I take mine to Walmart for a Full Synthetic Earl Change at about 10k miles.
I know Walmarts have a terrible reputation like the Take 5 Oil Changes but these two techs at the Gonzales Walmart know me by name when i come in at 7am on a Tuesday morning.
It's $48.50 and I'm out the door in about 30 minutes( Which I spend walking around Walmart getting my steps in or grocery shopping)

Why is Valvoline like $135 when Jiffy Lube is only like $55? Never going to Valvoline again
Chevy 1500 takes 8 quarts of synth. $150 plus tax at Jiffy Lube here in Florida

About $60 in my truck...about $40 in my wife's car. I do it myself, frick an oil change place. It takes me longer to stop by a parts store and buy oil and a filter than it takes to change it and doing both takes far less time than waiting on those dumb fricks to do it...and the odds of them screwing something up is pretty high. I know at least 5 people now who have had their drain plug stripped by different oil change places and one who had their oil pump stripped when the morons cross threaded the filter. Any of those fixes ain't cheap.
I change ours around 5k. Thats quicker than the manufacturers recomend for the way we drive but its what I have always done and have never had an oil related issue with any vehicle.

Last time around was just over $100. Emphasis on LAST. Going back to doing all vehicles myself.

Amen. Including the time I spend buying oil and filter, changing and recycling old oil I have all of about 45 minutes in it. It usually takes anyplace around us at least an hour and usually a couple of hours to get finished. I also know damn well the drain plug ain't going to be stripped out and the filter is going to be installed correctly. Any oil changing place, including a dealership, is a crap shoot because they pay the technicians bupkus and the technician could care less if your truck slings the filter off and blows the engine.

They will also cross thread your filter and frick up the oil pump which means pulling the engine and if you do not have the wherewithal to change the oil pulling and reinstalling the engine to replace a stripped out oil pump will run you about $7500.
They will also strip out the drain plug running it up with an impact wrench because they are fricking stupid. That will cost you $1500 IF it can done without removing the engine...unlikely.
