Rest assured that there is a zero percent chance that I will ever make a life decision around the ability to get into a bar. Tell me that you're an alcoholic without telling me that you're an alcoholic.

Defensive. Assuming you have friends your own age, and most people mid-late 20s go to bars, that would limit your ability to socialize with them if your gf can’t get in.

Bars don't play an important role in my life.
Nor the lives of my friends & family.

I can respect that. You do you. As long as you aren’t, like, exploiting these young girls and you are upfront that you are just looking for a good time, no harm done i guess.

When I was 35 I took a break from the dating gig...until I fell into a thing with a 22 year old mom (OT 9). I could not believe it. While it carried some risk as she was supervised by me (TOTALLY worth it) I was absolutely amazed at the reaction of women my own age. They were nice about it, but I found what the OP said to be true.

My judgment ended up really sucking. Nearly every woman I had a relationship with before marriage was 180 degrees off from what I expected them to turn out like. Most of the gals I thought were stable and good candidates for marriage have had a life of relationship strife and singleness. The ones I decided were not marriage material (including the OT 9 above) ended up living happy long term relationships.

Had my wife have not come around and been VERY patient and waited for my eventual proposal (big chicken here), I would be lost in a loop of messy relationships.

Very lucky...and I know it.

Young women don't want older men. They want your wallet. Meanwhile, they are boinking the young, virile men behind your back.

average was 7 years younger than me. Currently dating at 4 years younger and still get the comments.

I saw some formula for too young.

I think it is half your age plus 7 makes it ok.

I’m almost 60 so 37 would be ok.
Still seems a bit young, but I’m not in the market so whatever.

So if 36, it’s 18 plus 7 is 25.
That seems ok.

If 26, 13 plus 7 is 20. Ok.

90, 45 + 7 is 52, I’m not sure

For real. This is absurd. Is he talking 25 year olds vs 18 year olds?

I haven't read the entire thread but I have a little experience with this. After my first wife passed away I dated a couple of women in their mid twenties while I was in my mid thirties. Honestly, I found these women boring. We had nothing in common. A hot young body alone does not make for a great partner.

Oh gad, you clearly aren’t dating anyone younger or older. Maybe enough therapy will help and one day you can hope…
