We have had Constitutional carry in Tennessee for several years.

Yep
Cops make money off of it from side gigs and the state police agency gets fees from the licenses

wut?
We all abide by the same constitution. United States Constitution aka "THE Supreme Law of the Land"> State Constitution

Constitutional carry should be national.

You are suggesting the US constitution specifies constitutional carry? Show me.....

he may be talking about the little tid-bit - "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" I know, its a bit broad, but that's the intention. No need to enumerate it within a book of "Codes and Policies"

It should be that simple. The criminals are already packing anyway. By definition, they do not care about the law. Weapons restrictions only restrict those who follow the law, which is by and large a voluntary decision.
I wish there was an accurate data set on how many felons are concealing fully automatic handguns in cities where handguns are not allowed at all. It sure doesn't take much of a trip through YouTube to find people openly advertising that they are doing it.

We have open carry but I prefer to conceal. I have CCP and got it back before we were declared open carry.

It is a shame we have to drive across state lines to get the full benefit of the Constitution.
Constitutional carry only applies if you live in the state. You can’t travel to MS or TX as a LA resident and CC legally unless you have a license from your home state.

If it doesn't pass this year it probably never will anytime soon.
IDGAF if it passes or not. I don’t carry often, but will when I think I need to.
I’d rather live to fight it than die following rules that criminals do not.

I prefer to open carry.
It’s not even surprising to people anymore.
When the law is changed. I’ll open carry on a holster but if I go into a crowd, I’ll probably cover it up or pocket carry.

I think it will pass, and as a small government conservative, it needs to pass.
Do I think it will make a differnce in terms of crime? I do not.

Gun Crime drops in Ohio after constitutional carry passed:
Crime dropped in a lot of places in 2023.
We need to see more actual data in more places before we can come to a conclusion that constitutional carry actually lowers crime.
Having said that, I support constitutional carry, because, it's a conservative position.

One of the unintended consequences of these constitutional carry laws is the rise in lawsuits.
Example
Criminal robs someone on the street at gun point, a fight ensues and the robber gets shot. If killed, the family files lawsuit against the shooter. If injured, again, a lawsuit is filed against the shooter.
Plaintiff attorneys drive these lawsuits.

I prefer to CCW only. But I understand others wanting open carry. I think part of the police dislike is not being able to determine the good gun carrier from the bad upon approaching a scene. I wouldn't read more into it than that.

I am so glad florida passed it.

I think it should pass, and it eventually will pass.
That said, I also think it is pretty irresponsible of someone to carry without any decent training.
The CCW Class is NOT decent training. It is not training at all.
Disclaimer -- I am in no way suggesting mandatory training should be a thing
