No it’s not. There’s been plenty of big names come to the wnba in recent years and it has not improved attendance or ratings. You’d think they would do well playing throughout the summer, but people have not gravitated to their product.

Her big $ will always come from endorsements.

She has endorsements with fashion nova, Reebok, beats, etc She’s gonna get paid regardless whether she’s in college or not
She doesn’t have near the star power in the WNBA

Why not stay another year and bank some more money?
Because she's tired of playing school

I realize she played 2 seasons at Maryland and this is her second season at LSU. So why is she listed at a Jr?
how in 2024 are there still college sports fans that haven’t heard of “Covid year”? That year didn’t count against eligibility. That’s why there’s been so many 5th year athletes across all sports the past several years and that’s how that dude from DETROIT MERCY almost beat Pistol’s scoring record a year or two ago. 5 years vs 3 years and still no one was able to break his record.

Hopefully she leaves with a degree because her NBA career will be shorter than lifespan of an NFL running back.

No one cares about WNBA? That’s about to change with Clark and Angel.
You’re strengthening my argument with this comment

No one cares about wnba star power she has 3 million followers on IG, the biggest “star” in the wnba doesn’t have close to that
She’s more marketable than any wnba player

No one was bigger than Clark and Reese, it’s not even remotely close

will make way more money in NIL than she will in the WNBA. Why not stay another year and bank some more money?
Sometimes it's as simple as they don't want to have to put up with going to class and being a college student
Want to get on with their life and pro career. She also has a bunch of money

Before the natty last year with her and Clark, nobody gave a shite about womens basketball.
I don't think this is true at all.

Yeah & they’re typically called “Super seniors” not super Juniors.
This is her 4th year - according to LSU website she had two sophomore years, 32 games at Maryland & 36 games at LSU.
For the WNBA argument, the #1 overall pick last year makes $74k/yr for 3 years.
The #10 overall pick makes $70k/yr for 3 years.
The best veteran players are making $200k/yr.

Angel has total 7 million followers on all her multiple social media accounts. International fans follow her too...Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, etc. It's really mind boggling her following, kids, young, old, all ethnicities. Even a grandmother and great-grandmother in our family love Angel. Her popularity has gotten a lot bigger since last year.

Dumb for her to leave. She's making good money

I say she returns since she makes over 3M in NIL and her WNBA income would be far less.

LSU vs Iowa had 9.9 million viewers whereas the 2023 WNBA finals averaged 728,000. Angel Reese has far more marketability at LSU than in the WNBA.
Yes, there was greater exposure for one game. There’s absolutely no guarantee LSU will make it back to the title game again to get that exposure. Some fraction of her endorsement deals might be tied to the hope of that exposure in the future, but most is due to the social media presence she had built already. That won’t materially change whether she stays or goes. Very few of her followers care where or even if she plays.

More people will watch her vs Vandy than they will the entire WNBA season
