I’ve Had It With Duracell Batteries

LINK Devices Destroyed
I know you’re not supposed to leave batteries in anything for an extended period of time. But other brands of batteries don’t explode, leak, and ruin devices like these do! Duracell owes me a walkie talkie, a lantern, and a flashlight that I didn’t show! I will never buy another Duracell again. Have switched to Amazon Basic Batteries and Ever Ready Energizer that doesn’t seem do this. Anybody else have this same experience??

Does one of those batteries say it expires in "201_"?

Sure they do. I've left batteries of all brands in too long and ruined devices

yes they do, they all do it
they are literally made of caustic materials, what do you expect?
i will say if you add a light smear of wheel bearing grease to the battery connections when you install or change batteries, it stops all the corrosion on the contacts that destroy your devices

Send the device and batteries to them. They will replace everything. Had them replace a streamlight survivor flashlight for leaking batteries.

Yes, and you will have the same experience with those batteries too. Some devices draw power even when turned off, even if just a tiny amount, and that causes alkaline batteries to leak when they get old enough. If the device is something that you keep batteries in then you should be putting heavy-duty or lithium batteries in it.

I eventually had enough devices ruined by leaking batts that I spent $100 on a few packages of energizer lithium batts to use in things I care about. Sams had the best deal by far fyi.
The internet says duracell have become notorious for leaking but all other brands have done the same over recent years but to a lesser extent.
Haven't ever heard of dielectric grease helping the issue but that's interesting.

Yes, in the past few years I've noticed Duracells leaking more than other brands.

I switched to rechargeables years ago and have no bad experiences with them. Got a quick charger that takes less than a hour to charge 4 aa or aaa for gadgets.

Worse than Ray-O-Vacs from the 99cent store?
LOL.
LOL.
