You mean the part where he told her to go and sin no more and she stopped being a whore?

Yeah, I'm familiar.

The people behind THESE ads are simply perverting Christ's teachings to tell these freaks they can keep being scumbags with no repercussions.

You do understand the difference, don't you?

Now imagine the outrage if at the end of the ad it says, "Jesus gets us. Now go and sin no more." Seems like that that little tidbit is always forgotten when people talk about the woman caught in the act of adultery is brought to Jesus.

Which is the whole point to the MM story .

She experiences grace AS LONG AS SHE ACCEPTS THE RESPONSIBILITY of that grace and changes her behavior.

My reaction to the ads was very negative as well. It seemed very political, full of all of the oppressor/oppressed, critical race theory, socialist, etc imagery that progressives constantly shove down everyone's throats.

My hope is that perhaps, despite some significant problems with the ad, maybe it does spark some curiosity for some about Jesus and what the scripture says about him. And maybe a few of those will actually learn the truth for themselves despite their introduction being a kind of a made for 60 second TV ad perversion.

Welcome people and draw them in with something that haven't seen or heard before, and then hit them with the hard truth once you have their attention. That's what Jesus did.

Obviously for the masses they will just see the He Gets Us ads as a message that Jesus condones whatever you want to do/whoever you want to be. But maybe for some it's their gateway to learning ... the rest of the story.

Washing the feet was lesson in humility and servitude. Making it about race is NOT right.

In the Old Testament, feet often symbolize stability, direction, and the path of righteousness

Also in the OT, “feet” or “foot” were used as a euphemism for “genitals”. I’ll give a couple examples but they are plentiful.

In Ruth chapter 3, Ruth “uncovers” Boaz’s “feet” and rides him all night long.
quote:

But when he lies down, observe the place where he lies. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down, and he will tell you what to do.

In Exodus chapter 4, Moses’ wife Zapporah tricks the LORD (yes… Yahweh, your Adon aka Adonai) into believing she had just circumcised Moses. You see, Adonai was about to kill Moses because Moses was an uncircumcised heathen. While Yahweh was about to kill Moses, Zapporah circumcised her kid and threw the bloody foreskin on Moses’ “feet”, thereby tricking Adonai into believing Moses had been circumcised and proceeded to withdraw from the execution.
quote:

24At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. 25Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!” 26So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.

Ok last one I promise. Deuteronomy 28:57
quote:

her afterbirth that comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears, because lacking everything she will eat them secretly, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in your towns.

He sort of did, but the point people miss these days is that the "thugs and whores" were changed after they met Jesus.

He didn't tell them, "You're cool just the way you are."

He inspired them to change and told them after offering forgiveness for their sins to "go and sin no more."

No, no, you got it wrong.

Everyone has it wrong. We know nothing about the real Jesus, the Disciples, or Mary Magdalene. The First Council of Nicaea took care of this. All we know are the fantasies of power hungry fanatics.
