So, Saints play at Arrowhead next season. I wouldn't be surprised we open up with them

That would be something Roger Goodell would do

It’ll be a November/December game guaranteed…in a blizzard.

Not enough of a draw. Doubtful they'll burn the Chiefs' best home game there, but they'll pick someone else on the schedule who's an up-and-coming team. Or they'll pick a division rival, maybe the Chargers for Harbaugh's debut.

Or they could go the Super Bowl rematch route with the Bucs at Chiefs, though that's a reach without Brady.

Probably, the Chiefs will open the season at home against the Ravens.

Saints are not good enough for prime time

Agree with this. I think if you're the NFL you have to go with the Texans or Harbaugh's return. IMO, division rivals are too risky and could accidently turn into a dud of a game.

This is true, but everyone gets 1.

Saints & Atl should be locked in as a prime-time game every year, because even when they both suck, or 1 is great and the other sucks; they typically have a good game between the 2.

The Denver game should be a prime-time game with the return of SP. I could also see that being one of the opening weekend Sun or Mon night game. And since the team plays the NFCE this year, the team could get another prime-time game since it appears to be mandatory that one team from the East is playing in a prime-time slot damn near every week.

Chiefs opener will be against a relevant team

Goodell is after ratings.

Nobody wants to watch Dennis Allen lead this team into arrowhead to open the season.

And when you look at their home opponents, there appears to be 1, maybe 2, teams that would be considered irrelevant. And the only reason the 2nd team would be irrelevant is because they just happened to be the least shittiest team in the worst division in 2023. Here's the list, let's play the game of which one doesn't belong
quote:

The Chiefs will host the following teams in 2024:
Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Denver Broncos
Houston Texans
Las Vegas Raiders
Los Angeles Chargers
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Side note. That's a pretty brutal schedule. For being back-to-back champs and knowing you'll be getting everyone's A++++ game; you might as well just assume they won't be getting the #1 seed again and wouldn't surprise me if they end up as a WC team.

I really mean 'relevant' in terms of interest. The NFL kickoff game is usually played between the defending SB champs and a team that peaks interest. Saints aren't really relevant in any capacity.

Nah that’ll be like an early October Sunday noon “first cold game of the season” game

My bet would be the Chargers or Texans . Harbaugh goes into Arrowhead with Herbert to play the defending Super Bowl champions or OROY CJ Stroud tries to take down the best QB in the league.

I get what you meant but there will be a lot of interest in at least 5 of those games.

Baltimore Ravens - Lamar, AFCCG rematch
Cincinnati Bengals - Burrow, only other AFC to make SB appearance in last 5 years
Denver Broncos - Division opponent, Payton
Houston Texans - OROY, playoff team
Las Vegas Raiders - Division rival, but probably also irrelevant depending on what they do at QB
Los Angeles Chargers - Division opponent, Harbaugh and Hebert hype
New Orleans Saints -
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Baker and NFC South champ, probably also irrelevant in terms of interest

eh.. they also host the ravens bengals and texans. good odds its one of those three given the intrigue those matchups draw.

I don’t care when the game is, I just can’t wait to shut their cocky asses up when DC4 owns that overrated Spags defense.

Yeah it will prob be Texans. I assume the NFL will save the Bengals and Ravens for late season match ups
