I’m not seeing signs of us competing in the next two years.

Try hard. McMahon is a nice guy. Black cloud over the program.

I have no idea.

Because there’s always the transfer portal?

Time for a change, he's in over his head. Just not a good fit for LSU.

It takes 3 years to build a winning team in the portal era.
They play hard even in 20 point losses.
The top 2 recruits from last year are progressing nicely.
The only portal players recruited are from Louisiana.
The energy is high around the program.

Because you have talent. You’re bringing in relent. Your coach gets them to play hard

Our best players are as follows:

A 4 year average sec player at a school who consistently lost
A player who left the SEC because he wasn’t good enoufh
A grad student who spent his career in the west

We don’t have old talent. Guys like Ward and Reed and Williams will grow and take more steps. Add in the freshmen, some transfer pieces.

If Jordan wright could just be a PIECE then we would be good. But we need him to be the guy and he absolutely isn’t.

Lastly, lsu will finish 8-10 in the SEC. That’s not “bad”. We aren’t some bottom dweller. We are on track

You cats act like LSU was a powerhouse basketball program. LSU has always been average or below in basketball since the beginning of time. We are a football and baseball school.

They're better this year than last.

They have had a few younger players show real promise.

They have a couple of good players who were either hurt or redshirting and are expected to either upgrade or add depth to key positions

There are two pretty good freshmen committed.

None of that means they will be a top-half SEC team or even better but they should be at least a little better.

WIll that be good enough for fans, not sure.

To be SEC competitive next season (top 1/3 of the SEC) they will need to pick up some talent in the portal or have one of the incoming freshmen be a gem in the rough (they are 4 *s but they'll have to look like they should have been 5 *s).

Just my take. It still won't be a big splash Wade team if that is what you are wanting.

ETA: Edited to fix a brain fart.

Where’s CB to remind us how we’re improving?

Because our team is very much improved from last season. And the team from last season was very much improved from when Coach MM got the team and we did not have a scholarship player on the roster. I think he is a good coach. He will have to have star players at some point to compete and next year we do need to start seeing some of those on the roster imo. But the fanbase in general has been completely unreasonable with Coach MM up until this point imo. And I am a huge Will Wade fan before anyone starts………was devastated he was fired. But the portion of the fanbase that hate Coach MM because of Wade needs to see the situation for what it is and was.

We will be better next year than this year

I doubt we will be a tourney team next year.

Do you remember when every player we had went into the portal??

Because we are at the very least marginally better this year vs last? And we don't know what the roster will look like next year? It's way too early to melt over next year.

This offseason we won't need to recruit 6+ transfers in the portal. If everyone returns we should be able to hone in on 1 or 2.

If you aren't seeing a team that is getting better week after week and trying very hard consistently like I am, I don't have an answer for you. Maybe I'm wrong, but we apparently aren't seeing the same thing.

We shouldn't expect anything close to a winning SEC record with this clown head coach.
