Can someone explain the documents thing?

is Trump still being investigated/prosecuted? on what grounds?
Is Biden really off the hook because he's "a well meaning elderly man with a bad memory?"
Is Jack Smith heading both of these?
And... we're ok with this?

According to them:
Biden apparently reached out to them and advised he had documents by accident. Didn't hide them, lie about them or tell others to.
Trump took them, lied about having them, hid them and told others to go along with it.

Yes.

31 counts of possessing and mishandling national security documents and 6 counts of obstruction of justice. This is the MAL case in Florida.

Prosecutorial discretion. It pays to have friends in high places.

No.
Robert Hur was assigned to the Biden case.

Of course not. There is a double standard and Biden supporters can make a case for the double standard however they are both bull shite cases. This is lawfare. This is designed for media consumption and to interfere in the 2024 election.

Two presidents did the exact same thing. One is being prosecuted because of his politics and he hurt the DOJ’s feelings. The other is not being prosecuted because he’s been deemed mentally unfit to defend himself.
And these are your two choices come November. Choose wisely.

That's one difference, the other difference is that Trump was President and had a legal right to retain classified documents while Biden was a Senator and then Vice President who did not have a legal right to possess such documents outside a SCIF, let alone in his garage.

nope, 1 was Pres. and the other was VP, the VP was not allowed those docs, the Pres was allowed to determine which documents were classified or not.

why would this matter? it's still illegal for a VP. and.. even if it was reported it wasn't reported for like 8 years? he walked by stacks of classified docs on his way to his Corvette and "wasn't hiding it."

As president, Trump can take them. lying isn't illegal. hiding things you can have isn't illegal either.

Either Biden MUST BE PROSECUTED..or he MUST BE REMOVED AS PRESIDENT.
There are no other options, it has to be one way or the other . Joe Biden broke the law when he took possession of the documents in question, and at the time he did so his competency was not in question. He never had a right to the documents. Ever. Doesn't matter who he told about anything years later, he took them illegally.
If DOJ declines to prosecute for whatever reason, then Donald Trump should call a presser and immediately call for either a prosecution, resignation or removal for Biden. If these are not forthcoming, then his case must be dismissed because of the blatant double standard.

Its a shocking double standard.
Biden was found to have willfully retained documents that he never had executive rights to post-Vice Presidency.
Those documents were of the highest levels of classification and marked. Some containing national security and military information.
He openly discussed these documents with a ghostwriter. Conversations that were recorded. Biden denies them even thought he's on tape.
The documents were not secured and spread around over several locations for many years.
Trump's documents were part of his Presidential transition, and in that transition, he had the right to retain them as negotiations for their transfer were conducted with NARA - just as all Presidents before him have done. They were securely kept, under FBI review, in the presidential offices at MAL. An avowed TDS loon at NARA decided to play hardball with Trump and when his attorneys pushed back, he reported him for all of these absurd charges.
Now, they are sweeping Biden's case under the rug, but they will go scorched earth on Trump. Just like everything else.
Its no more complicated than that.

Trump’s argument (correctly) is that as president he declassified the documents under dispute. He had the authority to do so.
Biden as VP had no such authority and the documents in his garage were still classified documents.

The SC just found that Biden willfully retained the documents, some from as far back as the 1970's. He has recordings of Biden talking about his "classified papers in the basement" to a ghost writer. It was no accident.
He's actively denying the ghost writer part to this day, even though Hur has him on tape, so yes... hes lying.

Biden took documents as a Senator and Vice President. Both no nos. He knowingly saw them in the garage for how long? It wasn’t, oh wow I see documents in my garage and turned them in.

Trump had a right to have them. He was POTUS. The documents were secure. Biden NEVER had any right, period, and the documents were never secure.
If you do not prosecute Biden, you cannot prosecute Trump.
If you do not prosecute Biden, you cannot prosecute Trump.

Lying to a law enforcement is illegal. They can lie to us, but we can't lie to them..

It's both are guilty. One took a plea and got probation and the other fought it, lied about it and was found guilty and charged.
Happens every day in our courts.

According to them:
acktually - FBI gave his attorneys a heads up that they were aware of some documents missing that "may" be in his possession and that they were going to get a warrant to go look in his houses in 'a week or so' -
ergo - the attorneys told Biden and, lo and behold, they soon reported that "we have some documents that need to be returned."

Joe Biden was not President when he stashed documents that were about his corruption in Ukraine and other places. No Presidential immunity.
