that was Dash Rip Rock. I think. But similar vibe.

Dash Rip Rock was with him (and remains) on the cruise ship where he died today, both playing on something called the Outlaw Country Cruise. Mojo Nixon and Dash frontman Bill Davis were old friends.

Bill posted they were heartbroken about his passing, but honored to hang with their good friend late into his last night on earth.

Unique individual, was fun listening to him on Outlaw Country.

Great musical taste and one never knew what he might say between songs.

RIP Mojo.

I saw Mojo Nixon at the Chimes. During a break the two people I was with and I went across the street to the parking lot and while getting stoned watched the cops raid the place for underage.

They drove the cop car half inside the place. That was when the doors were on the corner. They were double doors and opened up wide enough to fit that full-size cop car in there.

It was a TRIP standing there watching that and getting stoned.

After they finished rounding up whoever, they left and we went back in and the show went on.

A quite memorable evening it was.

Damn, thanks for posting that. My dad was friends with Bill and would always tell us about Mojo as kids saying how hilarious he was but never really showed us…my mom must have said no

Bill is a really great guy, can shred a guitar too.

I saw a Mojo concert at WC Don’s in Jackson in 1989. Best concert I’ve ever attended, including arena shows with big name bands.

I would bring people to see Mojo for the first time. Was funny to see the look on their faces when Mojo cranked up.

And it was really funny when I pulled a blowup sheep out of my pocket and proceeded to inflate when Don Henley started playing. Wetdog!

The Pleasure Baron's at Fitzgerald’s in Houston was a hell of a show.

Since he kicked on the Outlaw Cruise (and with it being Mojo) do they dump the body at sea, helicopter it off, keep in cold storage until they arrive at port?
