Hope it's a lot of DEI layoffs that are sucking the life and cash out of these companies

I’ll take a little less job security if it means I’m not knee deep in someone else’s literal shite.

We are still struggling to hire electrical and computer engineers. Doesn't seem like there has been any uptick in those types of available. We aren't looking for people who did a coding boot camp.

Swapping the freon gauges and welding rig etc. out for a laptop and a pocket screwdriver back in 08 to work on TAC/Schneider Inet and Struxureware made the road to retirement a lot more enjoyable and cleaner.

I want to see mass layoffs in HR departments across the board. The letters will be all “ I have decided to spend more time with my cat”.

It’s not as bad as it seems. This isn’t a result of AI. Nor a shite economy.

It’s simply what tech does. They bloat employment numbers to drive stock value, then eliminate super specialized jobs.

They will literally hire dozens of tech positions whose sole job is to design order buttons for their websites. Or dozens of positions just to design the look and feel of menu bars.

It’s all smoke and mirrors to drive up value, because in “tech” the more employees you have means “the company must be worth a lot since they have so many employees”.

Nothing to see here.

I would love to see a breakdown of what "tech" jobs are being laid off.

How many scrum masters, technical writers, etc. are getting the axe vs actual architecture and development teams.
