Please explain again why Mardi Gras parades are fun.

Had to drive through this shite trying to get home tonight. Traffic fricked up everywhere. Throngs of substandard to mediocre humanity. It's like a big ULL tailgate except a million times bigger.

If I only think they're fun if you're single and/or have kids. Neither apply to me, at the moment, so I stay away if I can.

If you have a private area it’s fun to hang out, drink, and catch some stuff. If you’re amongst the unwashed masses it’s awful.

They’re fun if you’re with your friends or family and have a good spot.

I enjoy them in small doses. I like seeing the marching bands, dance teams, color guards, etcetera. I don't care about throws and I don't want to be out there more than about 90 minutes at a time.

Humans have held festive occasions to celebrate things like the changing seasons, births, deaths, and just life in general for thousands of years. Different societies have held different types of celebrations. Mardi Gras is our take on Carnival, which dates to the Romans (and potentially in some form back to the Egyptians, although the celebration was certainly different).
Mardi Gras has been around much longer than you have lived in whatever area you are trying to drive through during Mardi Gras. You getting stuck in traffic is on you. You should have known better. Use your brain and plan ahead if it bothers you that much.
Try not to be a miserable, uncultured slug. Celebrate life instead.

You're complaining about driving through traffic for a parade you didn't go to and asking why parades are fun? Even the biggest parade fan doesn't claim they're fun for people who aren't at the parade.
