My personal favorite was Ellery Queen, a TV show that ran for a single season in the 70s. Unfortunately it never caught on and was very expensive to produce.

A traditional who-done-it, where we follow Queen (Jim Hutton) as he unravels clues to find the murderer. Each show ended the same way; Queen broke the fourth wall to discuss the evidence and, having gathered all the suspects together, solved the mystery.

Great sets and guest stars, too bad it didn't last.

The ending of Saw really got me, I was sure they were setting up a sequel with a cliffhanger ending when Adam Found the tape recorder before the final reveal.
