Let's see you get rid of a successful head coach to bring in someone with zero head coaching experience?

Can we say Auburn has become the Ole Miss of the West now?

ESPN did report this as "highly likely" late last nite.

Had the morning radio guys on DEFCON4 status alert

The latest is that Sexton is purposely planting this out there, and that Willie's $900k base will soon me $1.2 by Sunday - it's all a ploy to get more money out of the longhorns.

Only if you're foolsih enough to not read the entire thread to know that Muschamp is not in fact going to Auburn.

He won't get so much as another dime out of Texas. Not less than a month after we agreed to his previous pay jump.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN:

al.com: Muschamp's statement: All Texas, no Auburn

Excerpt:
- "Texas defensive coordinator and former Auburn assistant Will Muschamp is desperately trying to tell you he's not interested in becoming Auburn's new head coach, so much so he's just released this official statement from Austin:

"I have not interviewed for any jobs. I'm not interested in any jobs. I'm happy here, my family loves Austin and I'm going to be at Texas."

Yeah, but take that with a grain of salt. Remember Saban and the famous "I WILL NOT BE THE HEAD COACH AT ALABAMA" speech. And where is he now....oh yeah...the head coach at Alabama.

Dan Patrick reported on his national radio talk show that Auburn officials wanted to hire Muschamp.

"They're going to point toward Will Muschamp,'' Patrick said.

LINK
Patrick interviewed Brown on the air and asked whether Auburn had contacted UT for permission to speak with Muschamp.

"We don't talk about other jobs,'' said Brown, who did not answer the question directly, "but Will is going to stay here. He had other opportunities before Auburn opened up."

It doesn't really looked like they're done looking.

Reports from televisions stations in New Orleans and Mobile, Ala., indicated that Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp would be named as the Tigers' head coach. On Friday, Muschamp issued a statement, saying: "I have not interviewed for any jobs. I'm not interested in any jobs. I'm happy here, my family loves Austin and I'm going to be at Texas."

UT fans should be praying for Muschamp to go to Auburn.

What is the hype about Muschamp for anyway? All he ever did was signal calls in for little Hitler

Sorry I'm not buying this till it becomes totally official.

First of all Will has just a cpl of years of running his own defense. Being a HC at a major SEC school is a whole different animal.

Second Saban would own him in recruiting.
Saban - "come play for me at Bama"
Recruit - "The HC at Auburn wants me there"
Saban - "lol. You mean the guy who was my assistant till cpl of years ago and has zero HC experience?"

This is all wishful thinking by AU folks.

The TV reporters in AL have repeatedly fallen for the latest "story".

Last night in Mongomery the sports reporter had Steve Spurrier taking the job today.

In Mobile, it was Will Muschamp

Last year, they had Tubberville to Arkansas as a breaking news story.

Do not believe anything until you hear it from the coach or the AD!

Saban's punk arse looks like Dukakis standing up in the tank. Dooley withdrew his name from consideration at AU, and with Muschamp swearing on a stack that he's staying at Texas, AU better land Spurriur or they will be back-page news for a long time. AU's AD is looking more and more foolish being so public with the search--he better land a big fish.
