Dealer license plate frames - why?

I don't understand why anyone would leave the license plate frame from the dealer. Do they like their car dealer that much as to give them free advertising? Does a license plate look that bad without a frame around it?
The dealer's frame went straight into the trash once I got my plates in. Someone enlighten me, please!

Apathy and laziness. Nothing more complicated than that.
I always remove mine, but I understand why most people just don't care enough.

You probably wear clothes with the logo or name clearly branded. Sell out.

Some dealerships used to give discounts on maintenance like oil changes if you kept some of their advertising on the car.

Weird thing to be upset about.

Police pay dealers to put them on. They set up pretextual stops because they almost always obscure at least a small portion of the state on plates.

Dealerships offer free services for plate frames, decals etc.
I had a dealership metal plate on the front bumper in a plastic square screwed into the underside. Told me free oil changes for life.
I took off the plate, unscrewed the housing, and took it all off.
Same with decals. Heat them up with a hairdryer and scrape off with a razor blade.

Some dealers make you keep it on for free oil changes

I'm with you. I make them take off any decals and plate frames.

Agree esp when it’s some loud color on a nice vehicle. I put those people in the 120 month loan department.

There use to be a Ford dealership in my hometown that for a while was putting a big window sticker across the back window of all their trucks. I thought it was one of the moat stupid things I’d ever seen. Who wants that?

Remember when dealers had their names stamped in steel truck bumpers?

I bought a car from Performance Subaru in New Orleans and I left the frame on. I liked the name of the dealership, and the logo. And they didn't rip me off.

who cares, most dont care enough to put on a custom one, and DGAF about a dealer name being on it
if you hate your car dealer that much, you should have bought somewhere else

Because I don’t care at all. Nothing could be less important than this to me.

I take that off and we actually have them take off their dealership sticker on back as well before we drive off.

Is that worse than a big Yeti sticker across the back window? Seriously.

Is it any different if you takeoff the license plate frame but leave the dealer decal?
I removed both the day I bought the vehicle.

When you order a vehicle instead of buying off the lot you can just ask them not to apply any of their branding and, in my experience, they will respect your request.
