The massive increase in offensive output in general and 3 point shooting specifically has led to a shitload of blowouts.

Teams finally figured out the 3 pt is disproportionately rewarded and all teams started chucking.

That and players all developed much better 3 pt efficiency

I think the fix is to extend the 3 point back further. Make it a distance where the efficiency drops off and you won’t have as much of every player camped out by the 3.

This board loves to constantly shite on the NBA, oddest thing for a sports forum.

People that claim to hate it and never watch it just find negative things to post about concerning it.

Only in basketball. Wouldn’t happen in baseball or football.

Knew ratings would be good for this one.

And it was a good game unlike the heat getting blown out by like 40 points or whatever.

What I heard is that they should eliminate the corner 3…

USCe and LSU will probably be one of the most watched games all season for WCB. Meanwhile, there's this random NBA game where one team lost by 35.

Compare the average ratings for all WCB games and all NBA games, then we can have this discussion.

Theoretically you could do both. If you moved it back you'd 100% still have to do something for the corner 3.

They adopted pro-defense rules in the 00s (zone D, forcing quicker trips across halfcourt) and there isn't much left in the magazine. Returning hand checks won't work, because they were a function of iso-street ball of the era.

Regulating picks (up to making them illegal) or creating a maximum number of passes per possession are extreme solutions.

An NBA regular season game is just hard to watch.

i watch a lot of regular season NBA, but the Celtics are a team I pretty much refuse to watch.

their style of play is so damn boring to watch.

I'd rather watch OKC or Orlando any day and they normally are playing at the same time.

hell the Wizards are awful but still somehow more fun to watch that the Celtics style of play.

Make current 3 worth 2.5. Then add a new 3 line further back. Scoreboard makers would live this idea.

Make the 3 line an actual line that goes across the court on either side of half court instead of an arc

tonight let's do No. 15 Notre Dame vs. No. 8 UCONN's ratings and see how that fares relatively speaking to the feature NBA game.

NBA viewership has completely collapsed..

yet they also keep breaking viewership records haha

this year had the highest opening weekend viewership in 11 years.

last year Kings-Warriors was the most viewed first round playoff series was the most watched since 1999.

in an era when everything else gets no viewers, NBA/Sports still reign supreme. which makes them more valuable, which is easy to notice if you check out the player salaries

Take out the corner 3. Make it like the 3 on the left

The Celtics-Heat game got beat in the viewership ratings by South Carolina-LSU women's basketball game last night.

This makes absolute sense. Not sure what this has to do with NBA viewership.

Floppers, overpaid crybabies, and referees with agendas. Unwatchable.
