Anyone watch Law and Order SVU? Complete batshit prog plot line

I was surprised to learn this show was on. I watched it regularly years ago, but happened across it last night.
The plot is thus:
A smash-and-grab looting mob hits a department store and grabs all the stuff they can, busting display cases, etc. But a woman is trying on a swimsuit in the dressing room, they spot her and one dude rapes her.
It turns out the victim is a liberal lesbian. She is reluctant to even attempt to ID her attacker because of the inequities in the justice system.
She does begrudgingly ID the perp, a black teenager, in a lineup.
In the lead-up to the trial, her lesbian girlfriend is lamenting that the victim isn't sleeping well. When the detective tells her that it will take time for her to get over the attack, she replies "oh, it's not that. She is worried the man will not get a fair trial" (She is 100 percent certain she has identified the right person. Why is a fair trial of any concern?)
At trial, while she is on the stand, she is given an opportunity to point out her attacker. She refuses and the court is recessed. She tells the detective she doesn't want to ruin his life, because she can afford therapy but he won't recover. After the recess, she finally IDs him, but later she agrees to accept a plea-bargain because he apologized.
WTF? I will never watch that show again.
Are they trying to smooth over future rapes? I've never seen a show make the rapist into the victim.

Reminds of this past summer in Philadelphia when that black guy stabbed a White guy to death right in front of his White girlfriend and the girlfriend would not describe the black guy to the cops. It's a cult man and there is no reasoning with them

I watched it, and felt a little different about the messaging. Took it more as the writers saying, don't be an idiot and let a rapist get away with it just because you have white guilt. Don't remember her being asked to accept the plea bargain. The defense attorney went to the DA asking for a deal after the ID was made in court, and the DA asked why would I make a deal? Kid says something to the effect of all my life I've felt invisible and didn't think anyone would notice that I raped someone. Now I realize my actions hurt other people and I'm going to change my ways.
This was the second episode of the season, and seemed less woke than past seasons. I'm interested to see what direction things go the rest of the season.

Yes, and then the DA said "I will talk to the victim about it" implying that she would have to approve it.

Sadly this is real life and most leftists were probably very moved by this amazing story.

This is just art imitating life. It wasn’t but a few months ago that that dude’s girlfriend refused to ID his murderer because the perp was black. Both her and the victim were huge SJWs and NYC residents.

What’s ironic about a huge section of our society losing their basic reasoning and judgement skills? Whenever they say cut your nose off to spite your face, this is what they mean. It’s pretty much that way with everyone on the left.

Look, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. You are on the other side so you don’t have the same perspective. Trump people love Trump. For all of his faults, he is who he is. This show is hilarious for how unrealistically it portrays crime. Reminds me of the ADT commercial where the skeevy white guy is burglarizing the suburban black family's home.
