They dont really care about clean energy. They want to coopt the energy economy for themselves and their friends. Whatever energy sources are not currently owned by legacy energy producers, particularly the ones they and theirs friends are invested in, are the ones that will "save the planet".

Europe should be enraged. First we sanction Russian energy, then we blow up Nordstream which pumped gas to Europe, then we cut supplies of our own ample LNG sales to Europe. When Europeans are starving in the cold, they'll have only Biden to thank.

This will be blamed on Trump somehow. Just like everything else they frick up.

Also by doing this won’t the Europeans be forced to buy less clean LNG from Russia & lining their pockets? You can not make this shite up!

A way of punishing Texas and other states for Texas' defiance on the border issue and surrounding states' show of support?

This seems to have already been in the works based on recent reporting but there is no question in my mind Biden pressed the button on this in the past 24 hours to stick it to the evil ultra MAGA Texan filth.

If you're referring to me, no. I was talking about oil prices. I thought it was overplayed when Ron talked about it and think Drill Baby Drill from Trump is dumb, because U.S. oil drilling activity is not influenced directly by any policy from the administration, at least in a meaningful way. Actually if anything this will make natural gas prices go down in the U.S., but not really anything to write home about. This is still a remarkably stupid thing to do, geopolitically, economically, and environmentally.

Biden was always a not so smart pandering fool, but now he's a dumb senile pandering fool surrounded by ideologically impaired commie hens.

CH4 is the cleanest fuel in the world next to pure hydrogen or nuclear power.

Don’t look now but this move by Biden really, really benefits ………

RUSSIA.

They will make billions and can set the price where they want.

If this has a long-term affect on choking the ability to get natural gas out to more markets, and the price of natural gas suffers greatly, it COULD, theoretically, force oil & gas operators in places like Permian New Mexico and DJ Basin, where flaring is basically outlawed, to make sure oil prices are high enough that it is worth it to PAY third party outfits like Enterprise, ETC, etc to take their natural gas.

If you can’t light it up in the air anymore, and prices are so low 3rd party transfer companies don’t want to invest in infrastructure to increase takeaway capacity, then you either have to curtail how much you’re pulling out of the ground, or greatly incentivize those common carriers to invest in increased capacity.

It's filthy. It's got some of those carbon atoms in it. That will cause global warming and destroy life on earth by 2030.

Greg Abbott
@GregAbbott_TX

Biden’s decision to freeze LNG exports threatens Texas—and America.

This reckless decision is a gut punch to the hard-working men and women in the energy industry.

It also could cause some countries to rely upon dirty coal as opposed to cleaner burning natural gas.

Good points on top of it just being nonsense.

Id place money that this decision is in response to the border stand. In that case, this would be an arbitrary decision and one the agency lack’s authority to make.

These companies should just move forward with the projects anyway.

This will cause more flaring across oil production operations in the long run and an increase in GHG.

I guess his next move will be to shut in oil producers for flaring too much.
