An arrest warrant has been issued for former LSU football player Kayshon Boutte for charges related to online gaming, the WAFB I-TEAM has learned. He is being charged with Computer Fraud, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of Gaming Prohibited for Persons under 21. He is expected to turn himself in at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison later today.

He is also accused illegally gambling, using that fraudulent account, to place thousands of different bets including some on LSU football. The wagers and payouts involved “several hundred thousand dollars,” said one source familiar with the case.

Some of the wagers were allegedly placed while he was still a player at LSU in 2022.

According to his arrest warrant, Louisiana State Police were contacted by “FanDuel Sportsbook” in July 2023, informing them that “a prohibited person, a collegiate athlete, possibly made several sports wagers.”
Boutte allegedly created the name of a fictitious female, Kayla Fortenberry, to create the online gaming account and used his own mother’s credit card to fund the account, the warrant says.
Seventeen wagers were made on NCAA football, which including wagers on LSU Football between the dates of August 28, 2022 and October 9, 2023, the warrant states.
Six of the wagers were on LSU football, including one game where he bet on himself, investigators allege. That particular game was LSU versus Florida State on September 4, 2022 where Boutte allegedly placed one bet that he would personally score at least one touchdown in the game and another bet that he would have over 82.5 receiving yards.
According to the warrant, during 2022 and 2023:
Boutte deposited a total of $132,147.53 into the account
Boutte won a total of $556,267.58, but used most of that money to make additional bets
Boutte withdrew $50,282.36 from the account

Wow. What a head case that guy turned out to be. He went from a top 20 pick lock to parish prison in short order.

Remember when like every athlete at Iowa and Iowa State was getting suspended for gambling on games? Turns out the investigations were illegal and now the agent that conducted them is under investigation for having conducted illegal searches and illegal surveillance.
But hey, he completely fricked a bunch of peoples careers.

He must have thought investigators would quit like he always did on his routes.

Brian Kelly had some interesting comments in the past about new gambling laws & athletes dating back to 22’.

Sounds like he was acting as a bookie through one of the gambling platforms. Doesn't necessarily mean that HE was specifically making thousands of bets more so he was betting for other minors
Hundreds of thousands of dollars on Wagers / Payouts is extremely misleading. You can have multi hundred thousand dollar payouts with like 1-5K wager (multi leg parlay)
I highly doubt he was wagering hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Innocent until proven guilty

Maybe this explains why he looked like he just didn’t care very much during some of LSU’s games in 2022.
